If you are good at aiming, and keep them for awa. Dakka...A king crab with the one shot UAC5 damage can ct core a Direwolf in SECONDS...ive done it before and with the skill tree and obscene ranges I can do it from much further out now as well. All ou have to do to make the whale driver cry and miss half his bursts is step slightly back and fourth while you pound that CT...in some cases ive ended trades like this where he didnt even orange my armor...ANYWHERE.

I suggest you compare the DPS of 4x iUAC5 vs 8x cAC2.

Spoiler: 8x cAC2 has a much bigger advantage in DPS than the KCB has in hitpoints.

Ill post this hear also as we are talking about KC short comings.

The crotch and butt hitboxes need to be split between the right and left leg. This would decrease the size of the CT hit box considerably.

That build is actually fairly rare, and they usually run a macro. I dont stick around in front of those in anything I drive unless its a poke build and i have cover nearby.

the more common is 6ac5's which I will glady trade at long range with since your damage is spread all over the place and across 3 shells.

The fair thing is to compare to what the mech can actually do, not what pubbies usually do with it.

Also, cAC5 and cUAC5 shoot in bursts of 2 shells, not 3.

I used to like the 8 cAC2 build until I tried out the 8 cUAC2 build with the new jam rates. Honestly I prefer the 8 cUAC2 build now over the 8 cAC2 (though it is still pretty consistent and powerful). That said, you can still run 6 UAC5 on the Whale compared to the 4 UAC5 on the Crab and the Whale will have the better DPS especially in a stare-down fight with the King Crab, and the Whale has better hitboxes. That said, I actually prefer the 5 UAC5 and a large TComp to make aiming with it a bit better (makes it usable at range as well).

Just because some people use the build wrong doesn't mean it isn't powerful.

Rather surprised the TDK's relatively MASSIVE armor bonus of 20 (note base is only 16) per arm has flown under the radar. TDK is already (at least IMHO) the best Commando variant.

I personally run my little guy with 4xMPL and 235XL for much high speed fun.

It seems mandatory when all your weapons are in the arms only.

Perhaps you are right but even I think that having the equivalent armor* that a 55T mech has in the arms is a bit excessive. Certainly it could be toned down a little or at least distributed more evenly with its other Commando brethren.

*actually exceeds with skill tree investments.
