Underweight mechs are extremely unusual, however. "Undercritted" mechs are normal, though.
But hey, they don't have to lower weight or crit slots. Just make the weapons better, if necessary, forget the table top damage values completely. Or increase the ROF, lower the heat, increase the range. Just do something to make items worth their weight.

you sure on that ghost heat cap for Racs ? if so uac's are going to just be way better which tbh, they even would be if there was no ghost heat.

No, it's accurate. PGI can't do much about the weight without doing weird stuff to canon builds. I'm thinking it could use a shorter cooldown, though. More like 3.5 to 4 seconds. No charge up data on the PTS page, still waiting to get the PTS up and running myself.
This has been their mistake all along hasn't it? If they would wake up and adjust weapon weights they'd have a good tool for balance purposes. I mean who really cares about canon or stock builds? Can someone please educate me and tell me why canon or stock load outs even matter. In MWO. I know when I buy a Loki it comes with a stock build from canon but if PGI adjusted weights then they could just adjust the stock load outs of chassis that you buy. I really don't get it.

Well, adjusting tonnage or slots upwards would make the builds not possible to be constructed. However, nobody ever proposes this.
What people do usually propose is reducing tonnage and/or slots, which does still allow the stock builds to be made with some unused space/tons that are awkward.
Maybe PGI could compromise by creating their own line of non-canon weapons that fulfill the same role but have altered stats. Like, an "Improved Light Gauss" with less tonnage or something. That way they don't override the lore.

It has, sadly...
BTW, Clan ERPPC weights almost half than the HPPC (6 vs 10), don't have minimun range and only takes 2 slots.
Fair?

....
'Cept Clans have it on a 6t 2 crit weapon with a 0-810m range
HPPC is 10t 4 crit with 90-540m range.
So the HPPC weighs 66% more, takes up 100% more crit space with roughly 56% of the effective damaging range.... yea real well through out.

It does. Let's compare...
In exchange for;
2 extra pinpoint damage
0.5s less coodown
7.5 more component health
It has;
2 more slots
4 more tons
100m/s less velocity
270 less optimal range
540 less max range
90m min range
0.5 more heat
Yes, totally worth it! ... Said no-one, ever.
Please, tell me how the Clan ERPPC is so bad...
[Edit] Or, compare the C-ERPPC to the IS-ERPPC, for similar hilarity!
IS Pros;
0.5 less heat
0.5s faster cooldown
5 more component health
Clan Pros;
2.5 to 5 extra splash damage
1 less ton
1 less slot

********. that makes rac 2s and 5s obsolete. why is this even a thing? ghostheat of 4 rac5 and 6 rac 2s? sure then youd have a similar dps compared to uac builds with more conrolable jam but spin up and innitial spread. but this? this makes em not even worth considering.

Dude, just no.
6 tons, 810m range, no min range, 2 slots
10 tons, 540m range, 90 m min range, 4 slots
cER PPC >>>>>>>> Heavy PPC

Huh.
Well, at least I don't need to worry about saving money for any new tech.
Let me guess, LFE still dies on ST loss or something?
