If this game becomes a one shot festival,
then many players will be pissed.
We dont need a Call of Duty mechanic in this game,
this is not a FPS.
PGI should be really careful with this, MWO already has a super low playerbase because its a niche game,
******* with the core principles of the game by introducing one shot mechanics is a no go.
Imagine you queue up with some friend maybe, you wait in queue, you wait at loading screen, you wait at match start,
it then takes you about 5 minutes in the game to get into position and start exchanging fire.
Then suddenly some troll medium/light with stealth armor shows up and one shots you.
The guy who shot you is 100% either dead or disarmed for the rest of the game.
The whole move is what one would describe as YOLO move,
It does not give the other team a real advantage, but it sure ***** with the user experience of the player that got shot.
15 minutes wasted without having made any real mistake or having had any way to prevent what just happened other than pure luck.
If stuff like that becomes common, then this game is literally dead.
There are already a lot of players who are pissed about LRMs, because there are situations where you basically die without ever seeing the enemy or being able to return fire.
This is like the most frustrating thing ever for newer players, I can totally understand that
Simply because u made one bad move you could be dead because of some stupid lock and fire mechanic.
That in itself is already a funkilling mechanic and one of the main reason so few players keep playing the game.
Would really like to know how the playerbase would look like if that weapon system would simply not exist... but anyway...
At least you can counter LRMs and once you get more experienced you also learn how to fight against a LRM heavy team and stuff.
But how do you counter or fight against a suicide bomber?
Because thats what this rocket launcher stuff basically is.
I hope this **** does not make it into final release.
Most awful addition to the game so far...
