Since you are giving us what we ask for.....We are asking for BANKED premium time. Then we can use it with our shiny new mechs. Active premium is all used up just in time for us to get new mechs then have no premium time. Insert frownie face here.

Huh, I thought the active comes in same time as the mechs which is why i didn't think too much of it being active... if you get it b4 the mechs show up then yeah not as cool...

50% higher mission payouts (Cbills and XP)

I understand the benefit for people who need C-Bills and XP. For those like me who spent hundreds of millions on modules before the Skill Tree announcement, C-Bills and XP both have fairly limited benefit. I've got over 130 million C-Bills after spending as much as I've wanted for the last two months, and XP I have so much of on nearly every mech I own I'll hardly ever touch my GXP, which I have enough to unlock 91 points on 5 mechs without dropping into a single match. And that all leaves out the 9k+ of remaining GSP I have out of the 10312 original total GSP that leaves me with almost nothing to spend C-Bills on outside of buying new weapons and engines coming with the next patch. I'd include buying mechs in that but I've got nearly 100 mechs which roughly half are skilled up and the other half I haven't even begun playing to find out how to skill them up properly.

If premium time brought with it discounts on camo patterns or colors, then I'd have a reason to keep it going, but as it is my premium time expires shortly after the upcoming patch and I see no reason to buy another mechpack to keep it going.

You asked for it!

PREMIUM TIME IS BACK!

Civil War Packs and Civil War: Escalation Packs!

Matt - a question I didn't see clarified in this thread: Is Premium Time back for only the "Civil War Packs" and "Civil War: Escalation Packs", or is Premium Time back indefinitely/going forward?

For those discussing what benefit Premium Time still has... I'm not entirely poor (about 180 mil), but I'm still worried that I'm not going to have enough for all the IS light engines I want in a couple weeks. Don't blow your wad yet! Posted Image

Also, +1 for Ultimate Packs being banked time, and +1 for THANK YOU!

When the premium time will be injected for already bought packs? In any way, I hope we will have a choise between active and banked time.

They have specifically stated that the PT will be active, not banked. If it is like all other rewards, it will be injected when your mechs are injected.

This means that you receive it the first time you log in after the specified delivery date/time. If you don't log for 6 months, it will all still be waiting to be injected.

Thanks for answer. Then it's ok if I'll get premium time after release of new tech but not before.

Roughneck "roughles" your feathers, doesn't it? Well it should, no? Sounds like it.

prob with your assumption is the roughneck actually has been stipulated to be canon by the guy who FOUNDED Battletech, Mektek stuff hasn't, so your arguement's invalid.

It is a bit more niche post-skill-tree-refund as many long time players now have loads of GSP and/or cbills, but for some new-ish players or more casual consumers this is good that they can perhaps get the specific mechs they've been waiting for *AND* some PT to speed up leveling and ease the costs (more XP/cbills per game).

...for others it is simply the principle that the bang/buck ratio stays fairly consistent.

.... no railgun??? Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

As much as I kinda liked some of the MekTek stuff... it did go off the deep end at the end there...

well, according to lore, some brands of Gauss Rifles were Railguns rather than Coilguns. there is also one mention of a Mass Driver large enough to launch asteroids, but that ain't exactly fitting on a mech. so no uber-powerful mech railgun. would be nice to have the gauss "variant" barrel version as a rail.

I cannot wait get my Uziel got all five of them as well as Mad Cat ii however Im little sad Clans didnt get a heavy Guass is and heavy PPC is there something down pipe line where Clans will get Heavy Guass Rifle id love to put 2 on my Mad Cats ii and did clans ever get MRMs I cant remember ?

No, they don't get MRMs, or Heavy gauss. however, per Jihad tech, they do get the most ridiculously broken BattleTech weapon ever, the Hyper-Assault Gauss Rifle, which is basically the RAC version of a Gauss.

thing to remember is the Clanners weren't big on rewarding people at being good scientists or inventors as they did on Martial pursuits, whereas the IS had a crapton more people dedicated to science who got respected for it, and thought outside the box. that really is partially why canonically Clans lost. course, there's tons of other reasons, like Judith Faber's Infiltration of the clans, their asses getting handed to them by the ComGuards on Tukayyid, the fact they're inherently split into Wardens (who want to "save the IS from itself) and Crusaders (who want to wipe out the IS), all helped in that regard too.

the Clan's only real advantage for the majority of the invasion was their tech being more advanced, and really the only reason it was is they hadn't been basically bombing themselves into the stone age for three hundred years and losing access to tech they had like the IS.

your average Clan Warrior was usually around the ages of 20-35, and they actually thought of anyone older than that as "past their prime" and pretty much only useable as caretakers for babies, not mechwarriors Posted Image conversely, an IS MechWarrior by the age of 35's got a lot of battlefield experience, and knows how to fight dirty and win, and is generally seen as having finally come into their own.

hell, should be noted several famous MechWarriors from the IS, or having spent most of their lives there (like Clan Wolf's Jaime Wolf or Natasha Kerensky) were still competent and deadly pilots well into their 70s, 80s or even 90s, something most Clanners would have considered Anathema.

hence the phrase: "Clanners fight battles. the Inner Sphere fights wars."

Well, white knight'ing is one thing - but this statement of your's right here is just a bit too much. Don't take this personally, but it's of course a lot better to have the premium time banked, for a lot of reasons. To fly into a rage throwing around verbal insults when people politely ask and/or recommend thinking this over again - since it actually is fact that PGI is not affected at all - is somehow completely inappropriate.

For the record @PGI, I would really like it banked too. Thanks for consideration.

That said ... its not like most people in this thread have been asking nicely - "demanding or else" isn't asking nicely in any normal sense of the meaning. I get the attraction and I'd love banked as well but I just got give 8 months of premium time which is a good thing and something I do appreciate.

A lot of the same people demanding banked time or they won't buy are also demanding pre-order bonuses for things they didn't pre-order or backed out of for one reason or another. Well honestly - tough, take responsibility for your own decisions and try to at least sound reasonable.

Well...probably people don't understand how frustrating it is for players that cannot play all the time. I don't want my premium time going to waste because I am at work for two months (for example)

At work for two months? Sorry have to say you really need a new employer. I mean come on they keep you in a basement locked away with no sunlight or opportunity to leave..... ;)

PS: I do get it as someone who leaves at 05.30 for work and gets back at between 19-19.30 on a weekday, before having to look after the family, but even my employer doesn't dictate what I do all the time (roll on the weekends!).

Interesting thing is FASA Interactive, which made MW4, was founded by FASA Corporation, Spectrum Holobyte and Denny Thorley, Morton Weisman, Jordan Weisman, and Ross Babcock. One could assume that those people had a saying in what got added to their product, even when it was published by Microsoft, and those "expansions" got outsourced to Smith and Tinker.

yes, but the probelm with your arguement is the weapon systems and Mechs asked for were added in by MekTek, a third party group, NOT affiliated with FASA.

The Roughneck however was added specifically by the makers of the game, and with the blessing of the original founders of the setting, so it has a place. it exists.

random stuff mektek added in like Plasma Cannons (and not the actual canonical Clan one), Streak MRMs, etc, and mechs like the Warthog don't exist. that said, MekTek did have two Mechs that ended up canon simply due to popularity, one of which was the Arctic Wolf being probably the only mech specifically built as both an Omni and BattleMech, and the Clan Snow Raven assault mech Deimos.

everything else, regardless of how cool it is, regardless of how much you want it, is not canon... hell, most of it isn't even considered apocryphal. it literally just doesn't exist. period. I mean, i straight out gave the explanation WHY Streak MRMs never did, never have, and never will exist. they have no tracking system to speak of, and Streak tech is only an addon to a pre-existing tracking system. MRMs were simply built to put a frankly ridiculous amount of missiles downrange of the mech, and hope to god most of them hit the target.

SRMs, however, are actually supposed to be semi-guided by nature, which is why Streak tech is compatible with them, and as we know, LRMs are fully guided, and thus also compatible with it. honestly, the best thing to compare MRMs to is really just a reloadable way larger version of Mech Rocket Launchers, rather than the other missile systems.

also... honestly.... ATMs pretty much ARE "Streak MRMs" anyways. most of those'll be doing roughly the same damage MRM launchers with roughly twice to three times the number of tubes do at medium to short ranges, AND they'll home, unlike MRMs.

I checked how much PT I will exactly have after the two civil war packs. Not 6 years, but 4,5 years is still a huge amount.

I presume you're being sarcastic there but I can't see what relevance that has to a player made mod aka MekTek? They have no ownership of the Battletech brand, license to use it commercially, etc.

Actually on second thought I am pretty happy with the direction of the game (bad game modes aside) PTS, and the re-inclusion of premium time with these packages. I see the Collector Uziel is the one I like the most, they all have 300XLs, DHSs and ES. Ok, sold.

Well. It's great that premium time is back, of course, but I already have not bought the pack and already have missed the pre-order bonuses. Not gonna buy without them. Maybe next time...

Never did field work eh? Oil alone is responsible for thousands of people stuck in the middle of nowhere with no internet access other than a satellite line that it's their *** to use for recreation. Military, far north ecological studies, grad work, on a boat...really you should get out more.
