More data from testing ground experiments, now for SRMs:

https://docs.google....dit?usp=sharing

TLDR summary: SRMs deliver almost 100% of their damage at point blank range (as expected), but lose damage as range increases, then their spread remains constant out to max range. Not certain at what distance the spread stops increasing, but it's below 130m.

Artemis adds about 10% of the rated damage to the target component over their non-Artemis versions.

From 130m to 260m, percent of rated damage delivered to target component are:

SRM2s: around 85% for IS, around 75% for clans
SRM4s: around 65% for IS, around 60% for clans
SRM6s: around 55% for IS, similar for clans
ASRM2s: around 90% for IS, similar for clans
ASRM4s: around 70% for IS, similar for clans
ASRM6s: around 65% for IS, around 60% for clans

Experiment setup:
Tourmaline testing grounds
Target: AS7-D close to spawn

Mechs used had no missile quirks, and no missile skills:
IS SRMs: COM-3A
IS ASRMs: CN9-A (NCIX)
Clan SRMs: MLX-B
Clan ASRMs: TBR-S

I'm sorry he didn't have time to do ATMs before they closed the PTS..

Would be interesting to see how much spread they had at close and long ranges, and how many salvos to core an Atlas..

Data is always nice so thumbs up sir.

It would be nice to see the difference when the range is extended and hitting at 300m

Also would be nice to see the effect of a single AMS with/without boost vs SRMS like this, but nonetheless, again, nice data accumulation and documentation, props to you sir.

For science!

I just use normal SRM 6 since missiles beyond 200m are all over the place anyway. Rather have more DHS and other stuff.

Please tell me one more time, how exactly C SRMs are inferior to IS SRMs while being TWICE lighter and smaller ?! "big spread" they say. Really?

This is similar to SRM tests I periodically perform in testing grounds. I usually measure shots per kill and then gauge the damage efficiency by dividing the number of rounds shot by the launcher weight.

I use an Awesome at 150 meters with the reticle touching the two PPC barrels center mass.

Please continue these tests further with data on how much missile spread skill nodes reduce shots per kill.

um Twice Lighter and Smaller?
i can agree that Clan SRMs are half weight, but only the SRM6 is Half the Size(2 to Clans 1, not much)
but what they do get is half a Meter less Spread, and more Damage(and supposedly more Crit Change(still Testing)

Ah, yes, that 7% extra damage for twice as heavy launcher. So per tube IS does 7% more dmg and supposedly more crit dmg. But why does it really matter if you can throw in twice as many tubes for the same weight?
