It might be kind of cool to have a tourmaline or grim plexus type map made with those under utilized art assets..

I think I brought this up before. Grim Plexus was quicker to make because the map sets were already there. They could easily do the same with Vitric Forge.

But it would be a hot map, so unless there was an event around it, nobody would vote it.

VITRIC FORGE HAS NO QUICKPLAY COUNTERPART.

And that's a good thing. Vitric combines the worst aspect of map designs that the average player loathes:

1. Visually impairing. Can't see well on many parts of the map without resorting to NV. HV is out of the question.

2. Cluttered. There are many places to get stuck on, or impeded, such as rock protrusions, and craters.

3. Hot as heck. Wouldn't have been that bad, if it wasn't combined with the previous two points.

Compared to Vitric Forge, maps such as Sulphurous Rift, and Tourmaline Desert are far more appealing, due to less amount of annoyances that I have pointed out. If PGI wishes to make more maps, they are better off making maps that players actually enjoy playing in.

Bandito, lol... Vitric's visibility is 100% fine.

PS - how the hell do you get stuck on a crater...

Not me. When my team is pushing into the attacker's spawn, those stupid red rocks and shadows visually impair me a lot. Even inside the base, I rely on NV sometimes.

I vote for hot maps pretty often.

Then again I can do this on a hot map and laugh.

(Ignore the stuff about heat, PGI will never fix rising thresholds).

I think technically they used HPG assets for Vitric and changed the colors, but I could be wrong. Either way, I am for a new map that looks like vitric, and includes the big blue star. I really love the look of that map.

And you guys complaining about hot maps.... seriously?? We already have hot maps and they are fine.

Yes, the devs stated that they used their/our already existing assets to create Vitric Forge.

No it is not. Tourmaline is visually 100% fine. Sulphurous is 100% fine. Vitric is not. As for the crater, my 90 ton Mauler had issue with it before, when trying to go over it. Nothing major, but the fact remains that the map itself is cluttered more than the two maps I just mentioned.

I don't mind hot maps. I just don't like it when it is hot, AND strains my eyes, while impeding my movement. Which is why I don't vote for Mordor and new Caustic, but vote for Tourmaline. And I am sure a lot of players think the same. Map voting results are proof enough.

Id be happy with Vitric Forge rotated 90deg and the devs add a some more terrain and cover crater side to give some more breathing room. one path forwards has you going through the base, the other has you traversing the craters and rocks, maybe with some scattering of buildings as well
