i think gyrs are... ok. like 6-7. the surprising one for me is the kdk. that chassis has been nerfed to crap and still people score it like a 8(?). almost spat my beer our what i saw it.

I haven't played it in ages. Took it out for a spin yesterday, and got this, and without any strikes too:

Safe to say the KDK is still fine, still one of the top performers in the game. It's hard to nerf something that can chuck four UAC10 down range with high mounts.

crap. i may need to redo the survey.

i didn't see the part where it said "Try to rate each chassis according to its peak build/variant". i was judging each chassis as a whole. explains the kdk score now!

Yeah you can't really nerf high mounts or a 400 engine cap.

You think any of the mechs are gonna change from the PPC/Gauss ghost heat debacle?

I mean, it affects Night Gyr the most, but since you can just run cLPL or cERML instead I don't expect much to change. This will just further establish the TBR and EBJ as the best heavies in the current meta. GaussPPC isn't even really strong right now, its the best build for the NTG and (future) NCT, and other mechs that can run it (TBR, EBJ, MCII, MAD-IIC, SNV) all have other builds that are already stronger. The NSR has teh sadz, though. PGI has a way of making all the most fun builds unfun.

edit: nvm, I revise my opinion slightly. NTG really has no reason to exist if it can't run GaussPPC. If the nerf is so strong that you can't really sustain 2 gauss + 1 PPC, then the NTG is probably dead. The only other build the NTG really does well is UAC2, which is probably going to be obsolete again with the ERLL buffs. So yeah... TBR/EBJ masterrace, NTG probably knocked down to an average chassis, not even above average anymore. Unless there's some super amazing build I haven't thought of, like 2 gauss 2 heavy large and that turns out somehow amazeballs for some reason...

I'd like more votes from Clan loyalists! So if you have a clan unit, or discord, or twitter following... share this thread around! I'll be closing it sometime monday before the patch.

might wanna postpone or just write this up as a PRE CIVIL WAR... cause the new tech is gonna change alot of things around... some mechs might become quite viable with is ultras, racs, ER's and MRM. some clan mechs could become better with heavy lasers..

You obviously did not spend enough time on the PTS. Heavy lasers are not going to be helping anybody. Go read the PTS forums.

They've changed them again from PTS but not sure it will make much difference.. MHLL were not completely terrible depending on what loadout and limitations the mech they were on had.. Certain quirk sets might make them viable.. But yes i've played with them and posted on the PTS... They need a really short duration to try to explain thier short range and high damage/heat inefficency.. otherwise they just arent worth it compared to efficient DPS weapons that doo better at all ranges..

Wait.. so Clan mechs are considered top in each category, often several chassis in the top before the first IS chassis.

I'm so very surprised, after all there seems to be lots of Clan players here saying that balance is fine and that Clan mechs aren't really any better than IS mechs.

Ermmm, did you read the post? Posted Image

As in, the whole point is to see how people perceive balance before Civil War, so we can compare it to post-Civil War later. I'll probably run another survey after the Escalation mechs have had time to settle in, probably January.

Ermmm. Can you redo the post in rage comic form? Reading words are hard. Pictures are easier. FB stickers would be even better imo.

The Banshee is rated pretty low... I guess people don't know the 3M is still pretty good. Not great like it used to be but oh well.
