Thanks for your time and consideration !
PS: I should have atleast played some music..but I don't think that would have distracted from my lack of dancing skills.

Side note: Hunchbacks are awesome. Been playing since closed beta. Had Hunchbacks since day one(and my second match; first one I played a Jenner).
It is a good learning mech, its utility expands as you develop your own personal skills (I don't mean the skill tree but your own knowledge of advance controls and how to use them). I've got a little bit of time to kill and recently discovered where my wife hid my headset so I could help you out a bit. Alternatively, I could probably throw a plethora of Hunchback gameplay videos at you, too.
Thankfully I only danced in two videos and one of them isn't even mine.
The Cicada at the end of this one.
And the Catapult. (It gets good after 38 seconds.)

Better late than never, eh. Like Koniving I was there for Beta too, had fun and I'm glad to see you still have enthusiasim, keep it and don't let changes and people kvetching about stuff change that. The only constant is CHANGE here and many many players who have been here a long time have some sort of love hate relationship with the game, feeling a need to reach out and "school" those still enthusiastic and unfazed by the changes in the game over years. Keep with it, know that we all started out as the suck and just enjoy what you enjoy about it. I look forward to seeing you in game. Chulain... "Hound" right? Great name.

In fact the first video might be a complete waste of time since once I do get into the action, my frame rate is absolute crap and then it cuts off. I end up doing modest considering and the video 'keeps going' with some still images and a voice over I recorded on my phone describing the fight. It does show the build, my many hunchbacks, the fact that I have no skill tree unlocks..
The second one replaces "FRAPS" with Loila video game recorder and things really kick into gear. No more frame issues. I do phenomenal. My voice over though isn't live anymore but recorded on my phone as I watch. Plenty of good advice about the Hunchback, decent amount of editing work, some classic Mechwarrior music
The third one goes into several short clips with fast forward. It shows my skill tree filling th a bit of fast forward and some comments, goes into a quick match just to showcase what I call a "bad exchange", where I'm working on making a flank on the enemies and a Locust finds me with a maxed out mobility skill tree, big engine and throttle decay on to defy the laws of physics. Between the choice of facing that one Locust or rushing 5 or 6 enemies that are all bigger than me, I choose the 5 or 6 enemies because my odds of winning that are simply better. Then a bit more with a change from AC/10 to a UAC/5, some other minor changes and then the most ideal battle ever happens... with more tips along the way.
This should prove very helpful to you. Also be sure to check the Shoot and Loot page, any match with over 100 match score (play objectives, combat doesn't matter too much; good use for the Locust particularly on Conquest and Incursion) gets a dig into a loot bag.

Click Add SP.
Then "Purchase SP."
Use "Mech SP" first.
Use "GXP" only if you really need to; best to save this to quickly upgrade a mech that is difficult to play without any unlocks.
HXP won't apply, it's the refund from the old skill tree.
Regardless of the choice, purchasing SP costs XP of some sort and cbills.
After, you probably have to go back to Add SP, then "Add SP"... and fill the slider bar to as many as you need to make your currently set unlocks. The max is 91.

Automatic. Just get matchscores of 100 points, scroll down and select the tab with the appropriate dates(the last one), and then it will have "Reach into loot bag."
Also: Check this thread for some helpful stuff that I just gave to another new player.

To the left of kills.
Made just now.
100 is easy, you can do it with less than 40 damage if you capture a base or two in conquest or hang out near allies (while shooting at things) in skirmish.
In Incursion the fastest way to make match score is either capturing power nodes to bring to your base, or destroying the enemy's base while they're busy fighting each other (just taking out a couple of turrets will be enough).

Also with 300 MC you can get another mechbay (you can also earn those in Faction warfare). You start with 4 empty bays (which store your 'owned' mechs).

They used to call it Community Warfare, though Faction Warfare is a bit of a better title. Would avoid using "Clan" warfare though. "Clans" being a very specific set of (now 6) factions that war with each other (sometimes) and the Inner Sphere and confusing when used with "clans" as in groups. Which guilds and the like are referred to simply as Units.
LRMs are kinda common in early tiers because they are easy to use, decent for slower computers, and the ones using them don't have to get "into danger" so much. It is easy enough to avoid encountering them. AMS does help substantially (and it's cheap; say 1 to 1 and a half tons for AMS + ammo).
To avoid LRMs you have two options. Stay in cover, moving from cover to cover and sheltering under things whenever available... Or make a move against LRM boats after isolating where they are and trying to figure out how to get close. Most LRM boats can't defend themselves or do very poorly at protecting themselves. And with the disorganization of tier 5 and tier 4, you can probably level an LRM boat or two before anyone noticed you've killed them right behind all the other enemies. Especially if you wait to make the first shot.
Get in really close if you're not noticed...
