3. This thread was in fact commentary about the Gauss/PPC linked heat nerf. That play style is not OP, you certainly don't see many people do it. This play style, as many have mentioned, is not OP. It's also situational. I guess I should have put in irony tags Posted Image


Do you get these numbers in Solo or Group/CW?

1. Depends on context. Could be Aim/mouse sensitivity. If you are getting most your kills late match in Solo, you are Vulturing. Not a bad thing and traditionally a role(dont laugh too much) for lights but with all the plebs picking Polar/Frozen, you get a good amount of range/time to pick off gimped enemies.

Can you do this mid-match while getting pushed-into hard?

2. Suppressing enemies works... IF they are passive. Very common in Solo.

3. Gauss+Peeps was not OP. Gauss+Peeps+ THE REQUIRED SKILL was OP, hence why it wasnt seen much in Solo.
The predictable 2Peep ShadCat always goes up to the snipers nest in Tourmaline.
The skilled ShadCat is anywhere but there.

Just something worth adding OP, unless you got 8 or more solo kills doing 2000+ damage, i do not consider that damage very effective. I have had plenty of games using conventional high alfa laser vomit just today (60-80 alfa strike, gotta love those HLLs) where i managed to pull off over 1000 dmg and get 4-5 solo kills and like 6-7 KMDDs. Not to brag or anything, but looking at just that alone, i managed to more or less kill a third of the enemy team while i only did ~1000 damage to them. If you actually target critical components (cant really do this with ERLLs at ranges past ~600m unless its a dire or static target), it takes under 300 dmg per mech to obliterate it from 100% HP 1 vs 1 if you either focus the CT (and this assumed you spread at least some of teh damage around as its difficyult to get everything into the CT nomatter what weapons you got), or destroy both STs in the case of either a cXL or a LFE or a XL engine.

2000+ damage is still damage, but if you didnt get 6+ solo kills with that much damage, it doesnt mean all that much...

Zombie post, but it's timely with the response nerf to C ERLL today. I.S. ER LL work even better of course due to the lower duration and heat reduction buffs lowering the number of heatsinks needed. Lower duration=more of the damage getting applied over the length of a match.

I thought C ERLL were already hot enough. Running 6 is counter productive, but I am sure boaters are gonna boat even if it is to the point of inefficiency.

if no, truly the laser OP or just some specific boating builds in specific mechs?
