It's so ugly I think I'm rectracting my earlier statement about buying this 'Mech.

It's a bummer but thanks for the preview stream (NGNG) so we could know (that's what this kind of preview is good for).

Yeah, I saw that. The walking animation is a bit wonky. The cockpit was damn beautiful though. Nice tinting on the glass.

id did seem alittle odd, i think its stance needs to be widened abit, so it can flow more easily,

So many of the "so ugly I want a refund" threads nowadays with the civil war Mechs.

Are you guys too embarrassed to be caught piloting a moped - I mean a fat ch- I mean, an Ugly Mech?

You should just focus on the fun, not the looks :-)

I think you got it backward. They made the stance more inward so that they can animate the walking/running part more easily.

You see that when we walk, we put our feet more inline with our center of mass (inward) but we put our feet outward when we stand. They just put the 'Mechs feet perpetually more inline with CoM to avoid animating the difficult transition between standing and running. I could be wrong about this though.

But the looks is the fun, at least for me because I came here originally because of Alex Iglesias and not really for the game itself (it never had any good review before coming to steam).

The upper half of the mech looked like someone had crushed it in a vice. This combined with the huge legs and walking animation make it one ugly stupid looking mech.

for some, part of the fun IS the looks. Immersion FTW.

Plus I like being able to enjoy my girlfriends with the light on, too. Crazy I know.

until you take the missile off then it looks like a dorkier madcat.

Well.. I guess technically it is a dorkier madcat so mission accomplished?

They really need to work on the weight of movement animations, period. I want to like the Uziels, as the basic animation wasn't bad... but it felt real light in the slippers, like it was ice skating almost.

And they need to watch some Godzilla movies to get the Ann stepping with real weight. But the butt waggle was nice.

wtf.
I've seen present day biped robots who walk better than that. The legs move as though there is virtually no weight resting on them.

Does it have a gimp?

As it get to the top of the high ground there on theta the camera acts as thought the mech has a limp.

Super terrible looking

Agreed, there's no "effort" to the movement, like they're gliding on ice.

If I had to guess, I would say that they ran out of time. It looks like they gave the legs a basic walk animation because they didn't have time to do the whole thing. The upper half of the 'mech doesn't stride at all.

They will likely be revisiting this in the near future.

There are iOS Mech games that have better walking animations than this MKII, how sad. I really hope PGI addresses this, this is truly some amateur animation design.
