Didn't know where else to post this, but has anyone else noticed that rocket launchers are doing NO damage in the live game? I've never seen one do it's full damage even on a perfect hit. Can someone please confirm this?

It's now got a min range of 50, below that it'll do zero damage. :)

Shoot that's pretty subtle, and certainly needs to be made more obvious.

In this case, time for a thread title change, and discuss away.

I know why it was done, and wish it wasn't. Still, people would have cried. Hard.

Given i dont exactly support kamikaze/suicide bomber builds, i have to say this was a good choice on the dev's part. I know its fun to do stupid things occasionally, and you can still kinda make suiscouts work (i saw a ASN with 4 RL-20s, managed to 1 shot a damaged assault from behind at 100m or so distance), but its nolonger possible to obtain RELIABLE kills with the stupid things. Just imagine what would happen in FW if people could bring 12 lights, and instantly nuke the generators (or the enemy team for that matter). In pug 12v12 suiscouts wouldnt really be that popular since its really dumb to die after shooting once, but the potential for trolling or perhaps even creating a legit meta in FW that revolves around 1-2 waves of RL-80 light mechs is too much...

Also, unlike the direstar, doing this doesnt even require all that much skill, just get something fast enough to outcircle a heavy, and circle around em until you see the backside. 1 shotting is not a fun mechanic, and while i myself have ran some derpy things like 78 alfa HBRs and 1 shot people in teh backside, at least the enemy has a chance against it as it required a long burn time, a RL-80 to the back at point blank is guaranteed instant kill and even potato skill can achieve it, whereas direstars and other insane thinsg take up tons, skill, and require teamwork to properly utilize, unlike the RL-80 light suicide bomb.

I've not seen it happen to me and I'm paying close attention. I've enjoyed tossing my rockets an stationary assault mechs from a flank. Good fun. :) They are great for filling up slots or completing tonnages. :)

Yep, those who played PTS know who's build/video got the min range added. Too bad they can't figure out a mechanic where you fire too many of one weapon type, some just fail to fire. Better than ghost heat.

Shame, I saw that as a Hail Mary last resort weapon. Which you would most likely use when your team is being stomped, and the opposing players are all trying to face hug you to deny the others on their team the kill (secure it themselves for their K/D ratio). So, under 50 meters.

Junk. SRMs with minimum range.

MRMs can do it all better, albeit at the cost of a great deal of tonnage. Any excuse to make lights continue to be not worth taking.

Also, ghost heat balancing is getting janky with some of these missile/energy weapons.

Yeah ghost heat for the new laser distinctions is off, you get ghost heat when the build says it is stable etc. It's probably just buggy.

But as for rockets, am I the only one glad they aren't strong? It would suck if they were strong enough to be popular. As far as the other weapons go, again I am probably happy that they went with a "soft" introduction, leaving them space to be buffed in ways, rather than have them OP, which would make people get used to OP weapons, then nerf them.

I'm just weird I guess.

I'd rather have a weapon system that was good one time than bad every time. But then, I gave up on flamers years ago. Really. I promise. xD
