Is 4687 MC the correct price for the DWF hero? The other 2 100 ton heroes, AS7-BH and KDK-SB, are 3750 MC.

I've been in 19 siege matches. I've won 6 and lost 13. I've earned an average of 292,000 c-bills and 435 xp per mech. I'm not sure what match store that results in, but I'm fairly sure it won't be anywhere near enough to qualify for anything. So, guess this event isn't for new players like me. Posted Image

Even on wins I'll end up getting losing out on the event. One of those 6 wins was a case where on the first drop we destroyed all three generators and opened up Omega. As I was in a light I was able to sneak in, jump onto Omega and get it down to 50% before the enemy even realized I was there! During the next drop we finished it off before I was able to waddle my assault drop to the front lines. Posted Image

Because generators and Omega result in no damage and because game mode goals result in nearly no reward even though we won, and I was critical in that win, I got a match score of 60 because according to my stats I "did nothing" the whole game. So playing the game mode instead of farming damage is an extremely efficient way of not qualifying for these poorly designed events. Posted Image

Yeah. 6 matches for me as IS only won 1 of them and never had above the required 150 score. To much of a time sink at that rate you are FAR BETTER OFF farming 10 million C-Bills via Quick Match in less time than would be required most likely to earn it in this war chest event.

Are you playing solo or with a proper group? IS still won a significant number of matches before the new tech dropped, as always the most controllable factor in winning a FW match is to play with an organized group (having a good dropdeck I'd say is #2, but that's not something you can necessarily change quickly if you're a new player).

You can't snap your fingers and make yourself a better pilot, but coordinated teams win FW much more often than pugs do. You'll see players on either Clans or IS saying they can't win at FW, which tells me that they're probably struggling with random pugs or *at best* a small group.

It is the correct price, OmniMech heroes cost more MC.

really hate events that cater to only one game style faction play or quick play. it should cater to both. I do not play faction because I'm A pug and 9 times out of 10 I'm in that losing team. really sucks to because I was hoping to get a new paint job for my new MC MK2.

Finally catching up with this thread again during a lull in my ability to make myself launch...

Also it would be good if not only the top scoring Unit would get MC of the conquered planet but also divide the income of that planet according to victory points to all contributing units that contribute more than 5% of the achieved victory points.

Give small units a reason to play. Right now the large marauding merc units playing soldier of fortune for whatever faction has the upper hand in the meta are not what I would imagine faction warfare to be.

This chunk which I've quoted from you? I COMPLETELY AGREE! There has constantly been a lack of rewarding from Faction Warfare's normal mechanics. With the way PGI has tightened up the Faction Warfare Achievement Sets, there needs to be something to drive people who aren't in Big Units. Some just can't get anything because they're stuck in situations where they have to 'Lone Wolf' their existence. If PGI did what you suggest here, it would more than likely revive Faction Warfare. :D

[Tinfoil_Hat]Anyone else see this as a new tech trial?[/Tinfoil_Hat]

Anyone who doesn't realize this probably has their blinders pulled down too tight. PGI didn't give enough time on the PTS for the New "Civil War Tech" to be properly evaluated. This really ticks me off because my Real Life situation makes it so that I would need a Month-long type of PTS session to have a chance of getting in and checking it out to provide feedback.

Not everyone will be. It's a rather big commitment to find one you like and then purchase it. :(

Which brings me to...

I'm confused. Why are the prices for heroes so different? The Warrant is 1000 MC more than the Reaver??

Differences in Tonnage & Mech Type cause the price of the TBR-WAR (75 Tons, OmniMech) to be more costly than the RGH-R (65 Tons, BattleMech)... The bigger they are, the more expensive they are. Weigh carefully if you have the (MC) that you really wish to spend on an item like that.

And as for "having fun" - you seriously think anyone is having fun playing with a 25-ton handicap?

I know that I'm not having as much fun as an Event like this should be. Being at a 25-ton disadvantage (240-Ton Limit) in the Clans, while fighting against the Inner Sphere and their Larger (265 Tons) Limit, plus with the emergence of the "New 'Civil War'-era Tech" and the boost it gives to the Inner Sphere, brings everything to wondering why PGI hasn't boosted the Clans back up to the STANDARD 250-Ton Limit already in order to keep the playing field equal. Maybe we're seeing some severe "Anti-Clans Sentiment" from PGI here? -_-

No scouting?

I wondered about this myself. The best that I can figure is that PGI just couldn't come up with a good metric for connecting the Scouting Game Mode of Faction Warfare with this Event. Frankly, if they just made '25 Match Score' enough to qualify for those actually performing the objective, then Scouting would easily fit in. ;)

Which brings me to this post, one I should have realized was worth replying to...

kylania, Good Catch!!! This shows right here that, even though PGI wants people to perform the Objective(s), they do NOT properly reward for it. They're going to need to add a properly reasonable Bonus of some kind (preferably in Match Score) for actually performing the Objective(s), if they want to put the right touch on Faction Warfare's Siege Game Mode, as well as make that properly compatible with Events and the Matches that ensue from them. :excl:

...and now that I've done that... well... BACK TO THE BATTLEFIELDS!!! B)

Great. Good idea to do a FW event. Let's find out what the new tech did for balance. Talking about it is cool and all, but we gotta see the rubber hitting the road now.

Match score is cumulative towards the extra freebies. Don't worry about what your score is, just add them up till you reach each tier. The 150 score is only for the extra c-bills. Drop with a group and you'll make far more than the bonus amount anyway. You can join any number of teamspeaks without joining a unit. He'll, if your IS atm, try rodcbr1.teamspeak3.com and drop with my guys.

Just had a game where we won Incursion mode via base damage. We won the game, and 4 of us didn't get 150 points since they were running energy and base attacking. The enemy team lost, barely touching our base, and every one of them got 200 points+ due to damage.

i played 11 rounds as clan now and i lost all of them :/ ...... it feels a little unbalanced :/ ...they gave new weapons and engines to IS to balance it, but they still have much more tons for a invasion deck. during the game it realy feels like we just fight with light mechs vs heavy mechs ^^

most of the new weapons are garbage. Try running med pulse on your clan men's and you'll win most trades. Shoot, short burst time so you can twist to your deadside, rinse repeat. Lfe has the same penalties as clan engines so you can really mess with their performance by taking out side torsos. Also, 6 heavy small laser, 3 heavy mg linebacker c is awesome. Try it.

I forgot that I've been wanting the Warhawk hero for a while. I hope that goes on sale. A Scorch wouldn't go astray either. Or hell maybe I'll outfit a Vindicator hero with newtech

EDIT: Ok never mind I just built the same thing on the Champion and it's better for cheaper??

at least now we have proof that IS has gotten better so now they can at least balance the tonnage limits.
