However there are some special tier eon pilots that suffer from a severe narcissism that can really sour a match, especially if they lose. Sometimes it was just the other team performed better overall, other times the other team pulled off an awesome maneuver. But to those narcissists its always their other team members faults, not that the other team just played better or that they themselves may have made a tactical mistake. Ever worse are those tier one pilots that heavily up gun their mechs while stripping armor and use their entire team as a meat shield while racking up kills but then whine when the meat shield doesn't follow "orders" to move to protect them, or doesn't death ball up so they can hide in the back.

this man speaks the truth.

muh lore

Bother your lore, Sir!

What about my lore? We have had Clan mechs stomping around the inner sphere for well nigh on three years now, and we have been forced to bid down into these wretched lances.

I want my stars back!

"How did they do it?"

For your first 20-50 matches (don't recall the exact amount) your PSR score is boosted massively. This was done to get the people who created a second acount, after they've been playing for hundreds-thousands of hours, ranked as high as possible so they wouldn't bee sitting around stomping on the pugs for too long.

When the Tiers were introduced, they started taking account only certain things, an completely disregarded all the testing matches, the derping around matches, and the "I was here since close beta, learning and testing things" matches,so I concluded that PSR tiers do not show the real skill of a player. At the same time, those that are in the higher tiers often became elitist and snobbish, looking down on the "steering wheel underhive" that are the lower tiers, calling them potatoes and whatnot.. And that's when putting a number before your nick became a status thing..

That is why I immediately decided never to show my Tier rating, cose' I don't want to be pre-judged on the basis of a skewed, incorrect number that does not show my true skill.

I'm not in this to brag about my skill or to be laughed at for lack of skill. Since the player base is not large enough to actually get matches with the same skill people, PSR tiers don't matter at all.

I'm in this to have fun. Tiers don't matter at all for having fun.

I can't recall someone saying lower tiered players are potatoes. I was under the impression "potato" is a description of a player that just sits in one place hardly doing anything.

Ever have that bad (I'm a potato) match? I have. It happens sometimes. The Potato Syndrome can strike the best of us. Fortunately, it's short lived. You should recover from it eventually.
