MCII is so close to being one of -if not the- best looking mech in the game.

And while its no Supernova in terms of lacking a mid range one-shot delete capability, it certainly has the high points and speed to compensate. I find the higher speeds also makes the JJs much more usable than any other assault.

---

PGI just needs to fix the weapons and the animations, both of which looked like afterthoughts. The JJ animations and ragdoll physics are just bad as well.

Maybe if it stalked the battlefields like this in game, people would respect it a bit more:

Ironically, parts of of the MCII look closer to the classic Timberwolf than MWOs Timberwolf :P

Damn man....why.. why can't this be the animation! How does it look at full sprint speed?

Haven't tried making it full speed. I can give it a go though.

Its an assault mech at the end of the day, I'm not sure it will have enough speed to require a sprint even at 400XL + tweak speed. But I'll find out.

MKII isnt that great imho. Seems to get cored really easy. Also seems to lack any real defining benefits, SNV was a much better mech IMHO.

Wait what?

My MCII-1 has an 80 damage alpha. Deathstrike has a 72 damage alpha. MCII-A has an 81 damage alpha.

SNV-1 has a 66 damage alpha.... I guess theoretically you could swap some Heavy Larges and get 78, but still, Mad Can Mk. II has the higher alpha.

That's what he said Gas, just a little convoluted, but he said that unlike the Supernova the Mad Cat Mk. II doesn't lack a mid range auto kill.

The fact that the next clause in the sentence says "but it certainly has the high points and speed to compensate" suggests that those positive things are making up for a lack in "one-shot delete" capacity.

/shrug

Don't know, I've only murdered a few Super Nova's from behind, never really had to face them head on...

Deathstrike is 80, 2 ERLL, 4 ERML, 2 Gauss, you only run an XL 300 but meh, those of us used to the Whale shouldn't find it a problem.

Mauler 2P on a Light 315, but it is only 60 damage and the range is shorter.

It also has Gauss in the sides.

Yeah your right. I just find gauss less capable than lasers due to its charge and paltry ammo count and all the weight and space it all eats eats up. My SNV-1 is all ER-LRG/Med so it can fit a STD engine, STD armor, STD structure so that it can boat enough heatsinks to cool down pretty damn fast and most importantly, its all in unlocked arms so I can track faster mechs with it.

Once I use the MCII a bit more seriously than the newtech JJ boats I have now I'll probably find those mixed high hardpoints just as easy to get lazy 1k games with. :P

If there was a SVN with 3E and 1B in the arms, I would almost prefer that over the MCII, but there isn't.

Something to understand about mixed energy/ballistic builds, they may have lower dissipation rates but because of the low heat ballistics they actually have better sustained DPS because they can fire ballistics regardless of heat levels generally (well Gauss at least). That's why Gauss Vomit was always better than pure laser vomit once you got the hang of it the last time it was meta.

Already added CASE, and so did the KDK-3. Less than ideal, but doesn't even make the top 3 biggest drawbacks.

CASE doesn't stop it from being meh, cuz like the KDK-3 you don't have the agility to really protect them like you used to.

i love my annihilators.

they have a reall "oh no its a annihilator! focus that thing!" effect, making them actually effective tanks.

they also can pack a mean mean mean punch.

all round id say its a good assault mech but a difficult one, that low speed means you cant easely fix mistakes or reposition.

EDIT: also if its going to ever get nerfed.. i actually would like to see its speed nerfed, have its niche be this way too slow but super powerfull powerhouse.
but thats just my opinion.

So is having better range, I mean the 6 ERML one gets what, a 335 over a 300? Not the greatest improvement of speed, especially since agility isn't tied to that speed anymore.

I am dropping Ferro, not endo. With Ferro I can bump up to a 370, but I lose 3 DHS in the process.

Ahh okay yeah I had 18 DHS... Still worked pretty well but I am liking the look of the build with ER LLs. 58 kph isn't so bad. Initially I was trying to do it with Heavy larges but you lose the slots, meaning less DHS.

54kph, here is the build I've been using a bit: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...bf525c125e9e561
