Whether Malice, or lelPGI, we're left to wonder

Well, actually, if I'm remembering correctly, the SupaHunchDakkaBear's reign of terror was a result of potato play and a bug with Clan UAC 10 Ghost Heat(ie, it had none).

Its an atlas, with a **** ton of extra HP, and more ballistics. (Ballistics are good in assaults)
Nothing even competes with it in its weight class.

you get an extra 30% Armor to share.. for 0 tons.

It doesn't even give up anything for it, as it can use the most powerful assault set ups with its ballistics.

There's a reason in the tournament where people 1v1'd a pro (i forget what it was called) the only assault he used was the annihilator.

You just cant justify that kind of free armor.

Hate to break it to you but it's the player, NOT the mech. Headshotting an Anni, EASY. Soloing an Annie, don't be dumb, EASY!

If you sit at range and face tank an Anni you're gonna die, plain and simple. Get in close and out maneuver it, take advantage if it's PITIFUL mobility!

It's the same as it was back during the Era of the KDK-3. People would sit there and face-tank, get killed, then complain that it was the mech being OP that was the problem.

OP please.

The Annihilator is an IS 'Mech. IS' Mechs can not be OP, even if they've got quirks up the wazoo. It is known (at least on these forums). :P

I'm kidding, though, because the massive durability quirks are offset by the damn things terrible speed, huge size and sub-par placement of hardpoints. It's dakka builds also require some face time. But yeah, if you're stuck in a situation where the ANH can circumvent it's weaknesses, it's absolutely brutal.

Rofl.
The "Gogira" is anything but OP. Its insanely slow and a 100 tonner to boot.
It needs every bit of armor it can get since its such a huge slow target.

Only way to win against an Annihilator is to make sure it's headcap isn't doing "YOU!" towards you.

When you 1v1 speed isn't a major factor, engine size doesn't change agility anymore so being forced to bring a 300 engine on a 100 ton mech isn't a detriment in 1v1.

In 12 v 12 getting from place to place is important, getting to the front line in a reasonable amount of time and pushing against the enemy is where the speed lacking Annihilator falls short.

My AS7 D has the same amount of armor and can fit a 360 engine which is 58 KPH and with tweak over 60 in a 100 tons is very nice.

The only thing the ANH can really do that the KGC can't is quad UAC10 and up and even with that you have significant ghost heat to go along with that fire power. The fact it can do dual heavy Gauss is nice but that weapon has a lot of drawbacks (like weighing almost 20 tons and screen jitter).

Also, something can't be pay to win when it will be out for free in the future, the fact that you will be able to get it for free kinda takes the pay out of the equation.

fun fact, the Annihilator is actually a clan design. Thank the Wolf's Dragoons for that one.

Nope its technically still a star league design, they just didn't put it into production. The SLDF part that ran away to become clans did do it later but they didn't design it, kinda like the stone rhino.

Unless it inexplicably gets nerfed before or shortly after its C-Bill release, or course. But that won't ever happen in MWO :P

I would say, slightly derailing the whine thread, that the Annihilator was actually a surprise in how good it was. I wasn't expecting much due to the super high cockpit and how slow it is.

But honestly it's a pretty beastly mech, that I make sure to watch out against.

Apparently, $20 justifies that kind of free armor.

Any light or medium mech can kill an unsupported Annihilator. Easily. They are slow and can't get out of their own way. They just leg hump or backstab you to death and the Annihilator pilot can do nothing about it-they can't turn or twist fast enough to keep up and can't shoot far enough down. An Annihilator alone is lunch for a Jenner that can get in close.
