The last time i played was around the time the night gyr became available for c-bills and i never had any stuttering. Started playing again recently and im getting constant stuttering...where the entire game stops as if its loading something for about 0.5-1 seconds.

Its not lag (theres no rubber banding). Its like when you play a FPS and enter a new area, and the game stops for a second to load the new area. I dont have this issue with anything else, and im already running on minimum settings.

I did notice the mwo client (using the 64 bit version) seems to have a memory leak now....if you play for several hours, mwo can use up 4gb or more of memory. Could that be related?

Edit : Restarted MWO, dropped into a FP match, and MWO is now using nearly 5 gigs of memory....

I have had this issue as well. It started mostly since the June patch. Server lag has also increased since then. Not sure what they put in the June patch, but it did effect performance a fair bit.

Have you tried running the repair tool?

If that doesn't help, you could try a fresh-reinstall.

There is also windows updates. Windows 10 by default will install drivers for your GPU, soundcard, etc. I had it turned off but on a major version update it was re-enabled. Had to google to remember how to disable Windows driver updating. It also set my Power Options from High Performance to Balanced.

The only times I've had stuttering were when I accidentally left Minecraft running in the background without realizing it. My system couldn't handle running both games at the same time.

IOW, you might want to check to see if you have anything on your computer chewing up processing power. Close down programs you aren't using and all that. See if you have any viruses or broken Windows components slowing your system down.

in dx11 i get less frequent and more graceful crashes, but more stuttering.
in dx9 i get more less graceful crashes (often needing a reboot), and no stuttering.
antique game engine is antique. hint: its not the hardware.

The MWO repair tool isnt useful in my experience...it always insists on re-downloading everything, even after i have just done so through the repair tool.

Using windows 7 so sneaky driver updates shouldnt be an issue.

CPU/GPU/memory usage is all fine...MWO is using a lot in a match, but i have 16 GB of ram and im not hitting the cap.

Been running dx11 since forever, but i guess i will try to see if theres any improvement in dx9.

Doubt support will help since you just get generic technical advice really...(like updating drivers or whatever).

OK, tried dx9, if anything, it made it worse.

Tried the 32 bit client, no change, although memory usage did decrease dramatically.

Last time I had stuttering occur, it was malware causing it. Malwarebytes fixed it nicely.

Same problem. Thought it was my hdd getting old and clogging up. MWO seems to want to constantly access files it needs throughout the match on a need to use basis when should have them already loaded in ram when match starts.

Seemed fine six months to a year ago. Win 7 no changes.

Might have fixed it...i was looking in windows resoure monitor, and i notied that microsoft security essentials was using a lot of disk activity on scanning my firefox sessions folder for some dumb reason, and also the page file. Adding them to the list of exceptions seems to have dropped the stuttering to near zero.

I have the same issue. Those stutters happen few times per match and it isn't related on the action going around me. I might be just walking straight with nobody around and all of a sudden I get one of those 0,5-1 second freezes.

I just builded a new computer, installed the MWO on SSD and switched from Windows 7 to Win 10 thinking this would help. Stutters are less frequent now and my average fps is way higher but it still keeps happening

Try checking for disk activity in resoure monitor like i did.
