Well being that being in tier one doesn't mean you are playing with other T1s, and even if it did, it wouldn't mean that any of those players were necessarily in a mech they had ever piloted before, or a mech class they had ever piloted... Or if they had too much to drink, or too little sleep, or their cat stepped on their keyboard/logged in and failed a couple of matches..

The "Tier 1 Matches All Suck" conspiracy is a little old. If you think matches are worse because they feature far fewer players who don't know the keybinds, then I feel sorry for you.

I, on the other hand, do not feel that matches decrease in quality as more experienced players are introduced to the match. I like matches where everyone already has a familiarity with the game, and I don't require the harvest of inexperienced players to enjoy myself.

Tiers need to be divorced 100% from W/L ...

I'm going to have to disagree. I think all stats except W/L should be divorced from any rating system. If you win a lot more than you lose, then you are doing something right.

I'd rather have a mascot with a very high win percentage over anyone with very high damage and kill stats but lose a lot more than winning.

Okay, I see one person with a founder tag on each team, one person with a Resistance tag on each team, and everyone else is either untagged or has a recently available package. That's evidence that the game put forward SOME kind of effort at distributing experienced players.

Sorry about your luck, though, we all get drops like that in the solo queue. Which is why i love the group queue. Better play experience.

I find you just open yourself up to a second region, I do OCE (~50 ping) and NA (~250 ping), half the time it forces people with the same settings onto OCE servers, half the time you end up on an average ping server. Usually takes at most a minute to get in during almost any time of the day.

No way can I play NA anymore. I used to be able up to 10 months ago but hit reg is getting more and more garbage again in this game, even oceanic, recently it seems mostly lasers just dont register like they are supposed to, the ussual ppc and and some srms etc.

I hit Tier 1 about a month or so ago and honestly regret it. I was expecting the gameplay to get better and more interesting, instead it seems to have gotten far worse. I too feel the same way about the MM because it seems that the MM is pairing me up with a bunch of Tier 4s and 5s and expecting me to carry them against a bunch of Tier 2s and 3s and I am just not good enough to make that happen. I mean hell the other night I had 3 people on my team that couldn't break 100 damage, one didn't break 50. No way in hell these guys were Tier 1,2 or 3 with those scores. I honestly wish I could go back to Tier 2 or even 3.

So unfortunately yeah, so far in my experience Tier 1 gameplay sucks.

I can agree.
There is no MM.

When playing in potato level, them taters really just cant aim that good and matches take longer to finish and also less stomps.

When player skill gets good enough, people kill mechs fast and efficiently. That is why stomps get more regular in tier 1.

When two comp teams scrims, stomps are actually quite common. It doesnt take too many mistakes after the other team can just roll over the other one. Force in numbers and so on.

tl;dr: the "good games" only happen, if both teams equally bad.

A few observations in my years:

The better the players, the higher the chance that a first-kill lead will snowball into a 12-2 or 12-3.

Match results often come down to which team loses its top players first.

Tight matches often result from all the heavy-hitters dying first, leaving the potatoes to whittle each other to stubs.

Short answer- yes....long answer- yes, games are getting worse as more people move to higher tiers that really shouldn't be there. 80% of the games will be 12-3 or worse, maybe about 1 out of 10 will be a good match....maybe. Some days there are no good matches, because win or lose a roll is no fun.

That is the new meta, ROFLstomp, fun fun fun...............pretty common now to see 1/2 your team score 200 or less.

It's not that your team sucks, it's because the red team played better.

Frequently, it's not even the red team played better. It's "the red team got 1-3 good players who scored 75% of the kills/damage".

I actually get embarrassed when I end up with 4 KMDD/kills+ and realize most of my team scored 200 or less. Especially if we lose.

Gotta carry harder, right? :(

Not sure if its just the time of the day, but I just hit tier one earlier and the wait times are now massive, and the matchmaker seems out of whack. Every match is a lopsided stompfest, 12-0 or 12-1 is very common. Tier 2 matches in general were much more balanced.

Yes it is very common. Most of the time you'll either get stomped or be on the team doing the stomping.

I'm getting quite sick of the one-sided stomps one way or another tbh. Most of my 1-2 hour sessions don't have any close matches now. Boring :(

I had an 11-12 match, which was the first time I saw anything better than 12-4/4-12 for hours as of last night.

Of course, it was early morning NA so it was only a few decent players, and whoever got them curbstomped the other guys.

One thing ive noticed, if I play during the day I get a bunch of EU players and it's easier to carry. If I get on at 10pm, (im east coast US) I see lots of good players and more rolls.

Hahaha, after my complaining, I had the first decent game in ages, came back from about 6-10 down to win a skirmish, and got my ace of spades too.

So... I love this game :)

After playing more this evening, im curious as to what mechs OP uses?

My Scorch has a 2.9 W/L after 51 games so far, Im sure it'll level off, but I bet it will remain positive indefinitely.

On the other hand my Zeus, with 70+ games played, has a paltry 0.89 W/L....

So clearly when I pick my hipster\bad mechs I seriously hurt my W\L ration

My only mech with over 600 games, my EXE, has a decent 1.42 W\L

In fact it looks like I win in clan tech, and lose in IS tech
