Or 2 plus fast mechs with ECM that get in close and jam your locking.
Just about every build has an effective set of counters for the situationally aware. To assume otherwise... well, pride does goeth before the fall...

That's what my 4 ER Medium Lasers are for... I've had that happen, and I will drag those lights right into the team blob if I have to to get rid of them, then just turn around and keep slaughtering the enemy. There are lots of counters to close-range ECM lights as well. (unless my team is a total potatofest playing against T1 players, I got no issues with a couple lights with ECM)

Yeah, if you are on a team and play like a team, that's the most OP thing there is...
I, however, would not count on that build doing well in pug drops since I know myself and many others *love* finding juicy lurm boat out in the open.
I'm not saying it *can't perform well, I would say it requires a good bit of external help to maximize that loadout to the point of efficacy...

Even when I'm effectively solo, (got stuck in the terrain and was last man standing, etc.) I was still able to get several kills... Cherry picked? Yes. A one-off occurrence? No. I have had similar happen many times, yet I still average a 500+ match score on these mechs. (and still eat lights for breakfast)
There is still skill in LRMing... It's not just point and click.

something many forget or choose to ignore. I know a few that are like that, most of the rest, you just shake your head and carry on...

I would agree, but the fact is many players "just wanna blow sh!t up!" and could care less about acting as a team.

Then they should just have a "deathmatch, free-for-all" queue for people who just want to shoot stuff and nothing else.

Well tbh like you suggested earlier I think positive encouragement to engineer behavioural change is better than reducing the player "buckets". Those of us that pay attention or play as a team will benefit ... those that don't won't be effected.

True, but they would still have to provide a means for players who "just want to blow stuff up" to do that without affecting the players who want to play a game where achieving objectives as a team is the main focus.

Plus the Flea,
If you include OmniMechs, there's also the Owens, Templar, Sunder and Hauptmann.

But I was referring to the IS BattleMechs made in 3060+, not Clan mechs and IS Mechs made prior to the Civil War Era.

No they don't.
Either way it wwould be nice if you got something for playing a scout lightmech, but you can scout for a whole match and stil get **** money, score and xp. Keep the system as it is and I guess the only benefit a C3 computer would give is insant target information instead of having to wait a feww second to be able to see where to aim.

More precisely, in TT boats exist, but are specialists typically with glaring flaws that cannot be so easily mitigated as they are in MWO.
Because of the mechanics are so different, one could certainly attribute boating to the power creep in MWO. The question is, just like with inflation, when do we stop? Once we do, things will tend to start crashing down.
Boats work better in MWO compared to TT because it is easier to get close wwwith shortrange weapons wwithout getting shoot as you move across the map.

In that case, we likely won't find out until a few days before release, during the release countdown, well after the early adopter bonuses window has expired. Your best bet is to pre-order now and simply cancel at a later date, if you don't like the colours.
