Scouting Dropdeck Assistance Needed

I'm wanting to set up a scout deck for FP but am in a quandary. I am torn between purchasing a Griffin 2N and a Bushwacker P1. On the one hand, the Griffin has ECM and I can put in a BAP, but only have 4 SRM launchers and 6 tons of ammo. On the other hand, the Bushwacker can fit 5 SRM launchers with 7 tons of ammo and more overall armor. Bushwacker also doesn't have a "tall" profile.
What do you FP scouters like?

If it is between a Bushwacker and Griffin, I would suggest the Griffin.

The only downside to it, IMO, is that its weapons are fairly low mounted, so if you're fighting on uneven terrain like Forest Colony or the rocky rubble of Polar, there are some instances wherein you don't have weapon LOS on a target but the 2n would be able to fire over the crap in the way.

ECM has fairly little value in scouting.
Has anyone tried RAC5?

Wolverine with 4 MPL, 1 ERLS, and a SRM6a.
Commando 1B with 3 ERMLs and a MRM10.
My three preferred scouts in order.

A single RAC/5 on anything larger than 50 tons is largely useless. Fit it in a Cicada, Blackjack, or Urbie and its okay.

My other favorite is a snub-PPC mounted Locust. Does well enough in a fight (its just a 165 KPH AC10 really) but it does really well at stealing those last second extraction wins.

That's true, ECM isn't all that valuable. People put up UAVs anyway, and streakers got active probes.
Not sure about RACs, they're usually better vs. big, slow targets.
Have you tried the Assassin? ASN-21 4x4 has a nice balance of oomph and speed.

Updated version of what I used to run, accounting for Civil War tech (which was approximately this), originally intended to help counter the days where Streakcrows dominated. That's for killin'.
For getting intel and escaping like a cheeky ******* I use this: PIRATES' BANE.

All any clan group would need to do would be turn around and go the other way, out range them. Very easy to do in clan mechs against IS in normal builds, even easier against IS in AC/20 builds.

I've never actually run Griffins, but I can talk about the Bushwackers...
The Bushy isn't a mech I would recommend to a novice, as she requires a light touch, situational awareness and a very fluid combat style.
How this relates to scouting is, you need to be able to adapt to what is going on, very quickly, and have a tool for most of the possible options you might encounter.
BSW-P1
That is one build I have run in Scouting, the grouping on IS SMR/4's is tight enough that you don't really need artiemis on them, and TAG will help you remove someone's ECM should they have it. This build also gives you a ton of SRM ammo, more than enough for the actual fight. By using a LFE 295, you should be quick enough to engage, yet tough enough to take a hit, this way you can also sacrifice your right side if needed and stay in the fight.
BSW-X2
This is my preferred Bushy, it is the one I use in all modes of play, but as you can see from the layout it is really a mech that can do everything but long range fire support, this also means that it requires me to be able to switch roles on the fly.
Other options, that has turned out to be very solid with new tech:
CN9-A
YEN-LO-WANG
CN9-AH

I'll tell you a secret... Griffin 1N.
You don't need ECM. You do need the extra weapon/ammo/JJ space. 1N can also fit 2 SPLs for additional damage beyond its SRMs.
The ability to jump vs BSW also makes you a harder target to hit.

We used ferrets, So in any gathering scenario we would simply try to outrun and intel gatehr them.
In defense you cna still perform amazing in the ferrets. Bets scouting emch in my opinion on clanside, extremely fasr good hitboxes for durability and 5SPL pack a sufficient punch.

is there any good news?
I had previously modified all my IS Mechs to go faster
be nice to hear something good about the skill tree (besides all the cry babies that keep telling me how great it is)
