its not like its so obvious it hasn't been mentioned thousands of times already in hundreds of threads.

engine rules might be an easy fix but you still see pro players stick an xl400 in their battlemasters and still manage to kick you to the curb. side torso instadeath is a thing you can work around and adds flavor to the game. everyone wants that one simple fix but those tend to be more myth than miracle. especially when there are a large number of ways to elevate is omnis to an appropriate level and doing the same thing every time is boring.

not to say that is omnis will be somewhat at a disadvantage, the way clan battlemechs tend to be better than clan omnis. that would make is omnis the worst. unless you do something to give the is omnis an advantage. for example getting rid of locked equipment, buffing endo/ferro (such as taking fewer crit slots), quirking structure/armor (especially in the sts of locked xl engine mechs). there are things you can do to bring them better into line.

All the have to do is unleash the quirks and it will be fine. Also: good baseline mobility.

To be fair, PGI doesn't really like to unleash the quirks anymore after the forum complained about "overquirked" mechs.

Really? I've never seen anyone else suggest that, is all. Didn't know it was such a popular idea.

An 85 ton Ballistic 'mech could be nice, plus I prefer the look of the Templar, especially if it gets those pauldrons.

A surprising suggestion for an 85t ballistic boat would be the Longbow. It's NAIS variant has 6 or more plus Ecm

It's an 85 ton BJ/RFL/JM6. Do want.

We don't have the Light AC/5 yet, unfortunately, which that variant requires.

It also has JJ variants so we'd get an IS JJ 85tonner

its silly, pgi creates the tools to balance the game, but they are afraid to use them because the player base will freak out. negaquirks are a great example of a great tool to nerf the op mechs rather than do wide sweeping weapon nerfs that break more mechs than they fix. the kodiak 3 could have been directly targeted with a negaquirk, but a uac10 nerf was a better idea for some reason. meanwhile i ended up taking uac10s off of a lot of other mechs as a result because they were performing less mediocre than before.

id rather have a lac2/5. as far as im concerned they can use the stock 2/5 barrel sets rather than have distinct models (since pgi is obviously terrible at doing newtech retrofits in a timely manner).

Given that all lasers for both factions and all sizes share the exact same nub cube, it's pretty much guaranteed at the light ACs would just look like standard ACs.

i always thought that was kind of lazy. but when you consider every mech model pretty much needs to have every possible weapons layout modeled into it, its easy to see why pgi was reluctant to add new weapons. a proper dynamic weapon model system would have saved pgi a lot of work in the long run. it would have allowed for more frequent weapon packs and possibly even weapon varients. but its too late for that and retrofits need to be brute forced over the course of years, if pgi hasnt flat out given up on it. work harder not smarter. if only pgi had coders.

I don't see why not especially when:
  • IS Omnis will use IS tech
  • IS already has Clan versions of weapons and tech
  • Origins Mechs are basically IIC versions of IS mechs
  • The current time jump would allow for mechs like that to come in

It is basically BS not to add them to the game.

All I know is that I definitely want that canon Sunder hero.

I mean 12B, 6M, 4E? Crazy.

Hope we get an IS omni one day. There seems to be like 3 that might be decent. But will still need some pgi love to make them work. At least we have options. Id hate to use an IS heavy or Assult Omni that would be married to a IS xl. Guess time will tell.

Not that impressive as that sounds when you really only need up to 9 for laser vomit (3x LPL/LL, rest med lasers of some kind). I mean sure, the Nova can run 12x med lasers, but thats really really dumb.and nowhere near as impressive as it sounds. Plus the main attraction, the ability to swap pods, is negated by the fact that quirks are being moved to set of 8 pod bonuses and the fact that you can just pick a normal mech with the hardpoints that you want anyway.

Hey, I run a stock Nova-Prime. I can fire each arm once then have to hide for ages to cool off. It's okay for poking while supporting teammates but get in a brawl and I'm dead Posted Image

The Men Shen is the only one I see being at all enjoyable to pilot. At least it can run its tail off.
