Dammmit, the upcoming event is totally one I want to participate.

But, my pc died (or fails to boot). Now I need to find a sufficiently skiled store/service figuring out which component is broken and replacing it. However something tells me that won't happen in time. q.q

Do you mean the event that's been running for a week already?

Or the Clan Hero leaderboards?

open your case and jiggle your sata cables. i swear these things were designed by potatoes.

you would be supprised how many computers i fixed simply by wiggling things.

I wiggled a load, on everything.

It is either the cause causing issues, the PSU or the MOBO. The sytsem starts runnign the fans then shuts down (before even the peep comes) then repeats that. But I have no spare PSU (that dying was the cause for the last PC beeing gone) and now I need someone checking which component is the one causing the issue.

I put a new bios battery in, also tried resetting the bios, changed both ram bars to see if that could cause the issue. Also, took out the GPU (board has a built in one). That lowers the possibilities of causes.

If its comming on at all its probably not the PSU. Just from what you have described i would guess its failing a memory test at boot. Other suspects would be cpu or less likely HD.

Last time this happened to me, it was the PSU - I think its just a case where the PSU is old/degraded and no longer gives enough wattage to get over the cold start wattage requirements. Apparently, it takes ~2x the wattage to start compared to how much wattage is required to sustain the PC being on.

The fans spin, since they require the least wattage to start (and are probably started first). But as soon as the other component's consumption of power starts (CPU+Mobo+GPU+HDD all need to start at once), its not enough, so it stops.

probably the pwr supply

if its a lap top then probably thermal shut down
the fan is not cleaned which causes the thing to overheat and shut down

Take off all the RAM and GPU and see if it boots. If it does then add one RAM stick and see if it still boots. Then another and so on. I have had similiar issues before when I had four 4gb RAM sticks. Everything worked fine for over 6 months until one day it just didn't boot. Removing two sticks of RAM made it work again.

I will trade for my problem.
Connection issues on all 3 servers.
Time outs on line show it is not PGI or me at fault.
Took a week to get ISP to understand what I needed.
Two weeks after THAT, they are still working on it.
I do see things that show they are trying but still the problems persist.
All I can do is build Mechs and use Testing Grounds/Academy.
Doing PvP of any kind means lag / rubberbanding / warping for me, maybe problems for others.
Bet your computer problem gets fixed before my connectivity.

Well I did that already, and it wasn't working.

where do you live? maybe move out of the wasteland into civilisation. Quite a few buddies from the US just live in yeas where stuff feels like untouched wild. However lag and connectivity issues could also be router problems. Some ISP's just provide very bad routers causing these issues as well. I had that like 12 years ago but never again after moving and having another provider.
