Lights should be scary if played right just like a direwolf.
Its simply a different play style.

1. Aim for their arms or legs.
2. Fire.
3. Relax, they are dead or disarmed.

Last but not least...you need facetime on a damaged section. I mean, so many restrictions and some people still cry.

Let me guess, you are the typical tunnel-visioning laser-alpha boat driver who...
1. cannot keep its lasers on target
2. doesn't aim for the legs.
3. doesn't twist
4. doesn't waddle backwards and/or turns counter clockwise to get the light out of his back
Yeah, I see why you want to nerf it.
If 2 lights are killing you, relax. Imagine how fast 2 heavies or assaults would have blown you up

The problem with silly posts like this, is that some people read it and accept it as fact, and then QQ calls for nerfs begin to pervade the forums for mechs that do not necessarily deserve them.
If you think Myst Lynx OP, you need to: have some self awareness, practice more, or uninstall the game.

This right here. Ideally a 20 ton mech is just as valuable as a 100 ton mech, when played right. Such was one of the major design philosophies for the game when it first started. That said if machine guns are a bit too crazy just lower their damage against internals or crit chance by .1 or .2 and call it good.
While also buffing lights (and mediums too) in general just a tad because they are still pretty underused.

Stick with the team, don't be dumb, aim for legs and arms, GET GUD!

My Viper-C runs 4 LMG's /w 4 HML's It's actually far less of a threat than most of my mediums and all of the heavies (period). That particular viper has to strip armor off and then go for guts to be effective (even CT) and has to be within around 300 to do so. Not to mention the Vipers kinda fat for a light (yes i know medium etc: cheetah can do similar).
That said if you want "MG Light be gone." Boat Streaks, Equip probe, grab some SPL's or MPL's and go to town. If your preferred mechs are fat get an LBx20 and a again streaks + probe. Laugh hysterically as the cheetahs see you then have half their mech peeled away.
Now I understand if they're mobbing you end game... yeah that's what they're supposed to do. Again though the fault of death usually (especially in a 1v1 scenario) lies with the player not the team. I have seen exceptions to this rule but for the most part get your stuff together and don't get isolated.
MG's are more or less where they need to be.
Still waiting on that Piranha...

My MLX 8xLMG runs 3 1/2 tons of ammo and my cheetah 8xLMG runs 4 1/2 tons, i have run out before but thats when ive been stupid and impatient enough to try and eat through mechs that were undamaged, if i wait for more opportune moments i tend not to run out.... or i get caught with my pants down and get cored pretty damned fast.

I should have specified that heavy machine guns are not sustainable. LMGs, however, can boat 8 and last.
