I like this game. I like shooting robots with friends. I want to continue playing this game and shooting robots with friends. I am willing to give PGI money to keep doing that. I would be interested in a founders pack for MW5.

er i get that you like playing with friends on MWO so support them here, but why found MW5 when you cant play with friends?

I bought the Night Gyr's in Feb and look how that turned out ! Nooooooooooooooo more $$ from me !?!

The Night Gyr ist still solid at least when pugging, and personally i don't miss the Gauss/PPC poptarts. There are still quite some other nice builds for which the Night Gyr is really good at with it's available tonnage and hardpoints.

I believe PGI will aim much higher than that - see what they tried to charge for Transworse.

No problem. Prices for non-AAA singleplayer games are falling rapidly after release thanks to steam sales. It will be the same as it is with mechpacks now: The ones who want to play as early as possible will pay the full price, everyone else will get it for much less depending on how long they are willing to wait.

So if PGI should really charge $60+ for a AA title i will have dozens of other games to play until its down to 30-40 bucks... Posted Image

Even I'm really excited about MW5:Merc but I will not pre order it first. Gonna wait for gameplay video or reviews to come in first.

Nowadays the second I see "Early Access" I reflexively click on the first button that gets me away from that page.

I'm the same. My young son bought a ton of 'early access' games that never got past Alpha. I actively discourage him from spending any more money now on anything that's not fully released.

I am a founder for this game, and I've played the bulk of the BT games out there. That said, I will not be spending money on MW5 until the reviews are out and I have an idea of how the game will be.

I have no faith in PGI and refuse to simply hand them anymore money. Which is kind of sad because I buy a lot of game merchandise just to support games, with no remorse if it just sits there collecting dust.

I wonder if PGI considered cashing out - selling their existing codebase, MW assets and licence to a larger game developer to work on MW5?

That could actually be their most profitable path forward, given the loss of confidence among many of their customers over MWO.

PGI could then set up under a new company name, and go back to creating/porting console titles of the kind that they prefer to play themselves, instead of something like MW, which requires more capability, imagination and originality.

Could be a win-win for the franchise and for PGI.

pgi should do what they should have done when they put mwo on steam: make the game mod-able by the community in steam workshop. Then the players can make maps, better ui/hud elements (COLOR BLIND FRIENDLY at last), better AI or at least better use of it, see skyrim's many comps named inigo, ai vs human battles, new campaigns etc. That alone Would have me seriously consider paying full retail price instead of waiting for steam's 40-805 off sale which will happen eventually if pgi does make and release mw5.

when you lack the ability or effort to do some things, better to let the public at large help carry the game, making maps, mods etc brings life and skilled people to any game that allows it, thus injecting much needed life and popularity..

I played many old FPS games because i could map for them, i played WOW more because i could better my LUA skills when making mods, i play other games like skyrim simply because of the sheer volume of work others contribute of a higher quality than my own always making me want to continue playing various games.

In contrast, altho i liked games liek wow (up to wotlk, everything after is garbage) i ended up disliking games like GW2 just because they were unmoddable, gave up games like ESO because while moddable the core game was just larely boring, start lvl all the way to max lvl is identical.

This game and MW5 could idd be more popular had/if people could donate their works to help keep them interesting.

well MW5 is unreal4 engine, and here as usual is a bedroom programmer making a rear view mirror in his UE4 example, so its certainly possible. jump to 4mins 3sec for his results.

Please don't reward bad behavior. MWO is no longer the sole Battletech product. Give instead to turned based game by Harebrained.

And what about those of us who want to play a first person MechWarrior campaign without having to go through the ritual of appeasement to get the great spirits of MW3 or MW4 to bless us with the ability to play them on modern hardware? Better question, what about those of us who aren't blinded by hatred for PGI and know that HBS was only able to make Battletech because of MWO's success, and that without PGI HBS won't be able to expand Battletech, or make a Battletech 2, or make any other Battletech related products? What about those of us who want to be able to keep our Unseen?

Look, I get that PGI is... well, PGI. And that they've broken a lot of promises, burned a lot of old timers, yadda yadda yadda. But who else is going to create MW5? HBS has never made a first person game before and they don't have the money to even try. Catalyst doesn't make video games. That leaves PGI. And even with all their failings, I'd rather not have to wait another 16 years to play a MechWarrior game.

Please don't talk about how the Night Gyr's turned out. We can all see you starring in theb33f's video with a LRM 45 Night Gyr:

Personally, my Night Gyr has been fine since the Gauss/PPC ghost heat link (which I'm guessing didn't affect you with the evidence above) Gauss vomit is still alive and well on Night Gyrs.

As to OP, I'm guessing PGI's MW5 product isn't anywhere near ready for founders packages yet, I'm sure they'll come after Mech Con.

Can I get some of what your smoking? Check out HBS track record before you paint PGI as the messiah.

^ This. I've loved Mechwarrior for 30 years. But I am by no means certain that I will be spending any more money with PGI given their attitude and performance in developing MWO.

BTW, I believe you will all be completely shocked by the price PGI is going to be asking for MW5.

I'll wager 60$

I'd pay 20$, maybe
We'll see how the game turns out

You are already founding Mechwarrior 5 with a portion of your mech pack sales.

I would not buy a Founders Pack from PGI ever again. Honestly I hope they don't offer one. Maybe offer and early access/open beta sale, but with out any promises of what the game is going to be besides what was generally announced. I still would not buy it because of PGI's track record. But if MW5 proves to be decent I will buy it.

Personally I think MW5 will be ok/good. With it being single player only it lets them focus on getting just one part of the game right. No real balance issues, and heck with it being offline single player, the community can fix/improve the game. Be cool if the community could even develop new missions/campaigns would give it limitless replayability.

I wouldnt mind a game that only takes 14 hours to complete as long as there is plenty of replayability

Thats something a lot of games lack though nowadays

Player created storyline and missions while PGI just releases new mech packs quarterly.
