Half a ton of ammo, actually. Although it's still a no-go, since the Bane-2 has literally no crit slots to spare. You'd have to switch a ton of LRM ammo for Streak rounds and then maybe slap on an extra half-ton of armor.
...or trade it in for a LRM 10. Because it obviously doesn't have enough tubes of those.

First off, this... no one will let it happen, it's stupidly insane.
Next up, we haven't seen a new mech in... well forever, what makes you think they are going to add any now? What we have is what we have... enjoy them that's all you can do.
Secondly and this is simple. There are far more, far better mechs that deserve to be made before a mech that was hardly used in mainline combat and was a second line unit at best, and most were retired. Mechs like the Thug, or the Clan wolf made 100 ton Tomahawk, Emperor, Salamander... etc... alot of IS and clan mechs that are more common and featured more often in books and such.
But again, we'll never see a lot of more deserving mechs, or any for that fact unless PGI has a reason to add more to this game, and currently? They Don't.

For everything else, yes I agree. There are more interesting mechs and yah Mechsales have been so low that its not worth for PGI to build more mechs. What it realy sad because I like the designs.

How many times was this said before PGI announced a piece of trash mech for release?
You're lucky they've abandoned MWO or they'd do it to troll you.

secondly pgi dont do mechpacks anymore. if pgi was so inclined to give me something i want that is different from the other robbits in my inventory i might actually buy it. this is one of those.

to be fair i really thought there would be a mega nerf to the ultraviolet by now. but it never happened. i presume its because of all the bad assault pilots bringing it down in the stats, and pro players don't want anything that slow, so its never looked as mean as it actually is. needless to say the **** show never happened. the mech is so blatant easy mode that i try to limit my use of it. but i figure the kracken will be different.
first of all it will be an ammo starved. the stock build only carries 4 tons ammo for 10 uacs. you can drop the machine guns for ammo and you might get that to 7 or 8 tons without cutting anything else. my uv carries 10 tons.
it will be more of a glass cannon. likely to pack less armor than the dire in favor of more firepower. it looks like its going to suffer bad hitboxes from what i can tell of the artwork. the mech is just all over the place. and the arm mounted firepower is going to be easy to shoot off. id also be worried about ammo explosions on some builds.
its going to be crit point starved. the hardpoint locations are going to be 5 in each arm and 4 in the right torso which is going to limit other builds. each arm can handle 5 uac2s or 3 cac/lb2s with a machine gun, or 2 uac and 2 cac/lb. so an lb2 boat might be limited to 9 guns (10 if you have the tonnage to switch the engine to std). i think the thing id worry about is hmg boats.
it will overheat in less time due to only having 10 sinks. my ultraviolet build has 15 heat sinks and is practically unplayable with 8 uac2s. now you want more guns with less sinks. this thing is going to run hot even with colder gun options.
i think people are more scared by the bane-3 because of the 120 tube (this is stock mind you) lrm assault build that potatoes will flock to.

And now you made me want to try that out
[Edit]
Have you tried normal AC2? With rapid tapping and sequenz firing you can unleash quite a storm of bullets and build up nearly no heat on Tourmalin.
You might not fire as fast as UACs and much more facetime but heck just for the lulz I would do that from time to time. T3 is pretty forgiving when you run that kind of mechs.
Damn I will save that config should I ever get to buy that mech.
Oh and yes I can see how the Kraken would likely never be able to field 10 AC2s with what we have and espacialy not in the arms.

i decided that the cac2 configuration was the best one. thing i like is their 1000+ optimal range and cool as a cucumber performance. it can sustain.
another one i like is a 4 uac2s with 4 lb2s which gives you a little more dps if you dont mind some of that being spread, it doesnt run cool though so i usually add a 16th heat sink to that build.
i usually fire them in 2 groups of four and fire them with a short delay between them. i remember a time i got called out for cheating because they thought i was using uac2s and somehow hacking away the jam. i had to inform him that they were in fact cacs. other players thought i was using macros, which i have messed with but never deemed practical. rapid fire looks cool but its hard to aim though all the muzzle flash.

they might be forced to make an ac2 heat group, have it kick in on anything more than 6 or 7 guns. but i really dont think its necessary with how hot that thing will run.

Reminds me of the Juggernaut from Solaris except it had lasers and not ACs but also lots of MGs.
