I'm tired of seeing 3-4 people on my team EVERY match doing the forehead slapping idiotic things. I understand people need to learn but why are they learning with players that know better ??? We need a kids table and fast so the adults can have dinner in peace.

The Nascar Driver .. Enemy is on the left flank .. QUICK GTFO go right goooo right and leave all assaults and firepower to die 1 by 1.

The French ... Enemy is straight ahead, slowly back away don't make eye contact and turn and run.

The Mountain climber ... Enemy has 12 mechs looking at that hill ... i'll just take a quick peak and whoops i'm dead good luck team.

The LRM Support guy ... Guys i brought LRMS in my Atlas hold locks and i'll wreck face... HOLD LOCKS !!! come on your n00b keep that lock.

The Pacifist ... if i just stay hidden behind this rock the war will end.

The "Sniper" ... you guys get in the fight so i can rack up the damage waaaaay in the back with my assault mech.

The Know it all ... my K/D, W/L are .48 but I'm going to call the strategy and you better listen or i will tell you how much you suck.... the entire match.

You forgot the moron that is last alive with no chance of doing anything. That simply runs around and hides in hopes of protecting his K/D. Locking everyone's mechs in that match and wasting their time.

Other potatoes include:

The "wannabe drop caller"; he orders the team to push-push-push... right into an enemy firing line. Then he refuses to admit he did anything wrong when the team gets chewed up.

The "damage is all the matters" guy. Calls the rest of the team 'noobs' and 'bads', because he did ok damage on a loss, in his LRM boat assault.

The "I'm playing the objective!" guy. This is the player that goes off and attacks/caps the enemy base in incursion/assault, leaving the team a player down in the fight against the enemy team. Refuses to admit he contributed to the team losing by doing this, because 'I'm playing the objective!'.

The good race car drivers know that the proper role of an assault is to be the proverbial lamb on a stake as it can in turn offer up some juicy back shots upon the enemy's own lambs. You know, sacrifice your wing man for glory kills.

I rage quit a couple of days ago. 15 straight games of at least of one person dying in less than a minute. Yeah, I'm ******* awful at this game, but I expect people to at least try.

i hate when people join fp matches and decide not to play when 3 members of kcom are on the other team. this comes in 2 flavors, those that suicide outright, and those that just afk the whole match.

Can add another, which I've been guilty of in a recent match:
"Forget the objectives, deathball ftw" - our team was so fixated with fighting the other team's deathball in a Conquest game that we all managed to ignore the counter at the top of the screen until it was too late - we won the deathball game but lost the match (simply didn't have time to recap the points).

Oh and this seems to happen a lot on Frozen City for some reason:
"Push? I see no push!" Half the team seems fixated on trading potshots with a couple of mechs on the other side of the map while totally ignoring the fact that the rest of the enemy team is rolling right into our flank.

An "S" is a straighter line than the path your slow @ss is taking to to reach the group.

You should get long range mech and advanced zoom nodes. Then you can observe the enemy team having all of these, and taking advantage of it.

Well, that's the joke part.

Over enough games, you will get equal amount of potatos to fight by your side, as well as againts you. And thus their effect is neutral.

You cannot be good yourself, unless there are enough people who are worse.

I was in a QP game last night populated by an incredible bunch of p- ... cowards. Manifold domination, and someone on our team convinced everyone but me to sit in the basement. I wound up fighting outside, 1 kill before dying.

So I spectated. For the entire game. They sat there in the basement doing nothing, and the enemy never attacked until a couple sniped one of them in the last minute. The 11 of them got no kills or KAs "playing" for 15 minutes

You forgot the 'Farmer Atlas.' Named after a certain founder atlas pilot. Farmer is not part of his id. What this pilot does in 95% of matches is nothing until the team he spawns with wins or should they die he tries and kills enemy mechs as they roll up to the spawn point from which he has not moved. In the rare 5% of matches he does move expect very little weapon use. In-fact you'd rather take the vip mech over this guy.

There is also 'the mirror.' This is a mech for no reason just follows your mech all match doing what you do. Any communication with it is met with silence.

I get it that you're frustrated, and that you want to play with better players, but I'm guessing that you yourself was once a potato.. so don't be all tryhard elitist and dump on the little guys.. they have to learn, and in the current state of the game, it's exactly the mentality that is ruining the game..

Here's why:

1) You begin as potato, and then git gud
2) You dump on potatoes who did not git gud yet
3) Non-gud potatoes feel bullied and sad, and they quit the game.
4) People quitting the game produces a smaller population.
5) A smaller population means the MM MUST match tryhards with potatoes.
6) The Tryhards whine and bully more potatoes and the circle completes, running steps 3-6 over and over until there are to few people to justify the PGI's server power bill and they shut the servers down.

You get it now?

Posts like this will only produce MORE unskilled players for your tryhard metamech to stomp, and drive from the game..

Here's what you can do though:

1) Stop being a bullying tryhard.
2) Accept that people play with different styles and builds
3) Accept that player population is currently too low for the MM to work properly.
4) Instead of bulling people with posts like this, or in-game voip tryhardism, TEACH THEM. Invite them into training sessions (they are free now). Show them why certain things work and don't work. Teach them to play LRMs, snipe, and brawl effectively.
5) Approach them with a positive attitude, instead of a negative one. Explain to them in a peaceful, helpful manner, why what they are doing is counter-productive. DO NOT force your playstyle and build meta on them. Instead, help them find what works for them.

If you do at least some of the above stated, maybe the result will be a positive outlook on the game, and then maybe they invite their friends, the playerbase grows, and the MM will be able to do it's job, and you will get matched with "potatoes" less..

Also.. one important thing..

Don't call inexperienced players potatoes.. its rude..

Out of 17 posts Vellron2005 was the only one with the word 'help' in it.

I see and hear it in many matches. The only time you will hear from some players is at the end of the match via chat or Voip. The match was lost because someone else did or didn't do something.



Get a Mic, use your mic, suggest, offer advice do not harangue or bully. Lead by example, lead by consensus. COMMUNICATE. Just because you know to shoot and scoot does mean everybody else does. Do not expect everyone to do what you thought they should do after the fact. I don't know about anyone else but I never got around to equipping the ESP skill points. Lastly guess what? Sometimes either the other player just did not see or hear you or if you've been obnoxious just doesn't care.

Remember it's just a game and also if someone asks 'who said that?' it could be to congratulate you on your wicked wit or more likely and most of the time it's to mute/block you.

literally half a pixel from t1. do i think i belong there, hell no. do i think it should be more than just an exp bar and be an actual skill rating, yes i do. thats even assuming we have enough players to make any kind of match maker work at all.
