Buying a hero mech is not the same as the "a la cart" purchase requirement.

Read under the asterisks: "A la carte 'Mechs are only available for the Clan Wave 1, Clan Wave 2, Clan Wave 3, and Origins IIC packs, and can be found at the bottom of those pages."

So you get nothing.

That would make sense, if that also applied for the black knight hero I purchased. However, that hero does qualify for the inner sphere griffin reward. which is why I'm confused as to why the clan hero does not qualify.

Under the first asterisk "Eligible Collections (any tier, or any a la carte 'Mech** when applicable): Wave 1; Wave 2; Wave 3; Origins IIC; Kodiak; Viper; Night Gyr; Huntsman; Linebacker; Marauder IIC; Supernova; Civil War-Cougar; Civil War-Mad Cat MKII; Civil War: Escalation - Arctic Wolf; Civil War: Escalation - Nova Cat or any Wave 1, 2 or IIC Clan Hero 'Mechs."

And the executioner hero is a wave 2 hero mech so it should qualify.

Kuaron, the store consistently uses the word 'tier' to refer to tiered multiple-mech collections, and 'level' to refer to mechpacks and add-ons. They have never said 'Reinforcement tier' for a mechpack, nor have they said 'Wrath level' to refer to the Wrath-tier multiple-mech collection. The wording is more precise in the top-tier reward notes.

Stone1116/LT HARDCASE: The Executioner hero is in the Clan Heroes II collection, which is specified in the requirements to purchase one hero mech. It should qualify Stone for the Kit Fox regardless of the lack of a la carte availability. I'd submit a ticket.

Would love to get @Matt Newman to give some clarity on how buying a $75 Ultimate Pack factors into the Top Tier reward.

Yeah looks like I was wrong. Probably. Maybe. Allegedly.

It's classified.

What's about them?

That you have to buy an IS pack and a Clan pack to qualify. If you exclusively play one faction, you don't qualify no matter how much stuff you buy.

This isn't about "FREE STUFF GIMME GIMME I'M ENTITLED!" It's about being arbitrarily excluded, which is bad by itself, but even worse when you consider the fact that the people who are excluded are those who help the game by highlighting its RP aspect.

I really thought they wouldn't do this the second time around, but they did. Couldn't they just say "buy any two top-tier collections"? Is "entitlement" really the counter-argument people are going to make for this to reinforce their bad decisions again? Oy.

It is just as last year, only about the collector's editions, which don't give as much on their own but are honoured by the loyalty rewards exclusively.

I, too, wished they had changed it, but if they haven't since, they probably aren't going to.

In the list with my purchase history, it Shows that I've got the both the Supernova and Nova Cat collector packs. Does the Nova Cat pack not count until it is released?

I just want to be 100% sure because the Linebacker H is a top priority mech for me.

So the Ultimate Supernova pack doesn't count ?

I'm pretty sure the collectors is part of the Ultimate pack, let's look

Quote

Purchasing the Ultimate Pack will provide you with all of the Nova Cat 'Mechs with just a single purchase!
- Collector Pack $40
- Reinforcements Add-On $15
- Hero Add-On $15

yup it's there,
I think you're miss seeing this part though, for what's qualifies for the reward

Quote

** Eligible combinations: At least two Collector Packs from any combination of the following Packs: Kodiak; Viper; Night Gyr; Huntsman; Linebacker; Marauder IIC; Supernova; Civil War-Cougar; Civil War-Mad Cat MKII; Civil War: Escalation - Arctic Wolf; Civil War: Escalation - Nova Cat or any 6 Wave 1, Wave 2 or IIC Clan Hero 'Mechs.

Whine, whine, whine. I only play IS mechs and this deal gets me three new ones, two of which are chassis I don't have any of. That's a win in my book. Thanks, PGI guys.

Except he said he also had ordered the Nova Cat Collector's Pack. That's the second.

I may be missing something here, but having the Supernova and Nova Cat collector packs should qualify, right?

And re: ultimate reward. You are not being arbitrarily excluded. You are arbitrarily excluding yourself.

I did noticed, that the Clan Heroes Two, counts towards nothing, or it's missing in any Eligible Collections description

ETA: Update, I see, what they are calling Wave II is the Clan heroes Two

It's finally showing that I qualified for it. Must have needed some time to update. Now I just have to wait for my jumping linebacker to arrive :D

But.. it's only some cockpit swag we are missing out. Is it of any importance to you? O.o

Somewhat of a slippery slope to nihilism.

If these rewards don't matter, why have them at all?

For some meaningless extra for "having it all".
People have crying for some extra for ultimate packs for years. Now at least here there is some.

Uh... last year it was the date you bought the stuff.
I bought the MAD-IIC back then, and it was injected only in winter, so it did work.
In theory though I could imagine that one could get the reward and cancel the preorder afterwards, no idea i they removed the award too, in such a case.

....of all the wrong variants.....

You know they do that to show off the patterns early, right? Same deal as with the Hero Mechs.

I mean, it kinda sucks, but what can you do. MWO 3D Model Designers can't pay off apartments, houses, and others with bulk shipments of $0.99 Ramen, so they don't have the 3D models done by the time they decide what the variants are going to look like paint-wise. At least the Urbie has the excuse of a need to build an all-new missile arm mounting.
