definitely spent more then the minimum. Didn't qualify for top tier. Probably should just put a $$$ value TBH. $100 for top tier for everything?

Hey they want to change it, that's fine. But I just get tired of people stamping their foot and demanding. I mean.... top tier is self explanatory.... in the last year did you purchase a top tier package, yes or no? Same as last year, the year before, etc.

And the same exact whinging about it, too. Which will be followed, some time after delivery by people whinging they have a mech they won't want in their mech bay.

Like freakin clockwork.

What? Supposedly you spent the money to get stuff you wanted to get, not because you were calculating what customer loyalty rewards you might get.

And now you're mad that you didn't get some free trinkets?

Sure the loyalty program could have been done better, but honestly, most of the mechs are junk, just as last year. And the ultimate reward is just some cockpit items. There is no need to be upset.

yeah free items are a strange thing
PGI is no way obligated to give anyone anything

we hope that the people we do business with have the same principles as we do
PGI has been way more then generous in creating this free to play game
the American principle that all are equal and should be treated equally is not a universal principle

all you can do is point it out and say thank you move on from there

Have already spent, bay, spent. That is the issue. Don't have a problem one with the program rewarding you for spending money, I just have a problem with the fact that the way I spent my money apparently isn't good enough to get rewarded for. That is where the shafting comes in.

PGI "Hi Viktor, thank you for spending near $300 this year on our game but you have been naughty and didn't buy collectors packs, shame on you, guess your just getting the lump of coal." Then....'Oh by the way, we have this lovely Hellspawn mech pack for you to spend even more money on but your still only getting the lump of coal next year if you don't fork over for a Collectors pack or 3".

Is it too late for you to request a refund on anything you bought?

Speak to PGI with your wallet.

or accept that hopefully you spent that 300$ because you hopefully actually wanted the things you bought? Cause if someone bought them because "end of year rewards"..... well, they reaped what they sowed.

Honestly, on second thought, OP has a point, but I don't think anyone who didn't order a top tier package should get the 'top tier' reward.

Instead, they should get a separate reward for spending $300 on Mechpacks. Perhaps a Dire Wolf with a Whale Shark Paint Scheme, or something. Something to say "Hey, we see you, big spender~!". And have the theme every year be a different type of whale-related thing, like next year have a Timber Wolf or something with a Killer Whale paint scheme.

Actually... As much as it seems like I'm trying to make fun of them, I'm being serious. I'd love a Dire Wolf with a Whale Shark Paint scheme. I'm pretty sure I already spent that much, in fact... Just so happens that "Whales" is what comes to mind when people spend that much money, so why not make Big Spender rewards whale-themed.

Just to check, the 'Collector' packs are the ones with the (S) special variant right?

Look, we all knew the rules before this even came out - same as the years prior.
participant trophy for anyone who played 100 games
little prize for buying MC
bigger prize for mechpack
biggest prize for buying the expensive mech pack(s)

I wasn't playing this time last year so I'm not 100% on understanding the requirements. I bought a Shard, Virago, and Esprit de Corps for $$$ and a Purifier for MC (i think). So would i need to buy two more heroes or three more heroes to qualify for top tier and get the linebacker?

Actually, I think buying heroes via MC may invalidate your eligibility. So you do need three Clan Heroes to get the Linebacker Reward.

Ok thanks, i figure that's much cheaper than buying two $40 packs for me since i already bought 3 heroes.

I'd recommend the Bandit, Deathwish, and Keeper, if I were you. All seem like they'd be decent. I mean, I don't know your playstyle, but... They seem the most effective of your remaining options, at least, IMO. Unless you want a Brawler or Sniper Orion IIC with MASC. Or a Machine Gun Jenner for the LOLs.

Actually, I own the Bandit. It's not awful. Not great, but you can either do something halfway viable (AC20+3SRMA+4ERSL) or stupid and entertaining (4X UAC2). And it looks pretty.

The Ebon Dragoon is also fun. The stock pods are good and you can swap around to get 4xM if you want, along with literally any other possible MLX combo.

Exactly. The rewards are crap.

Why couldnt it have been like a Direwolf-C with ECM and atlas/annihilator level structure quirks

This program would be a good place for a points system.

Just spitballing

5 pts for the Participant trophy.

15 points for level 2

30 points for level 3

50 points for Top Tier (choose IS or Clan)

100 points for ULTIMATE TIER (get both IS and Clan, maybe even in duplicate or whatever...)

You get 1 point for every 20 games played through the year up to a maximum of 5.

5-20 points for each level of mech pack. 5 pts for single 'mechs (The hero collections), or standard collector packs. 10 pts for collector packs, 20pts for collector packs.

1 point for evey 50 MC purchased. Up to 50pts max.

Something like that. That way everyone can get the shiny tokens at the end of the year for supporting the game however they see fit to support the game. And you still have the higher packs rewarding more than the others.

*My points numbers might be off by miles, just throwing this out there to be constructive instead of joining the 'whiny ****' or 'picking on whiny ****' side of the argument

Make the qualification 2 collectors packs or 4 basic packs. Pretty damn simple solution to the problem and these thread spouting fire, brimestone and negativity never even pop up. Instead you have happy players who are going to keep spending money rather than being pissed off about a program that should only be creating positive impressions.

So you think spending $80 on 12 mechs (four basic packs) should give you the same reward as spending it on 8 mechs (two collector packs)? It shouldn't, and the extra value you got out of buying the standard packs is in those four extra mechs (and double the early adopter rewards if you bought the mechs when they were announced).

You got many more mechs for your dollar (and probably a bunch more early adopter rewards) than I did because I bought four IS collector packs instead of eight standard packs. That means I get the Victor as my reward for spending more money on fewer mechs. The top tier reward is a 'thank you' to those buying collector packs, just like the standard reward is a 'thank you' for buying the standard packs. You're not entitled to the top tier rewards just because you bought a whole bunch of mechs, just like I'm not entitled to the clan top tier reward for buying four IS collector packs.

Thought so.
I'll buy that just to get the special camo scheme as there is no other way to get that one.
Plus you get other stuff.
But that's just me.
