Hello everyone ! I'm here to share with you some nice builds for the wacker after a ton games on it.

MWO has been releasing so many mechs, a lot of people ended up finding the love of their life.

I had to wait of lot of time to find mine, than the Marauder came out (not the IIC ofc, buarf), and he was a really nice first love. Today he still has a big place in my heart.

But when the Bushwacker came out, the real love showed up :

Bushwacker are so adaptable and tough that i can't play any other mech (just Marauder sometimes) since they came out.

So, after hundred and hundred of games, i wanted to share with you some builds that are the results of many tests and reworks. If you lack of idea, if you want to try something new, or if you have problem to make the bushwacker work, i suggest you to get an eye on these.
Some builds aren't on their optimal chassis since I only have 1 of each chassis, but you'll see the potential anyway.
I often do more than 400 damages, and do more than 500 damages on a regular basis with them. And i did make a lot of 700/800+ damages games where i have good unload opportunities. Biggest games in those chassis broke the 1000+ damages too.
Those results are in tier 2 solo matches and premade matches (when i play with a friend). (Only tier 2 since i don't play enough games to reach tier 1, it's a matter of time)

Here we go, starting with the 2 missile powerhouses builds :

-The classical SRM boat (my least favorite Bushwacker because of its shortrange limitation, but damn effective at it). The 2 missile rack, explosive & spread skills are needed :

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e8ee2cf2c32843c
EDIT-Update : Replace 2 torso SRM4 by 2 SRM2, no more ghostheat and better hitboxes

-The VARIANT I HIGHLY RECOMMAND : My MRM SPECIAL wacker, my most original and powerful creation (my favorite Bushwacker) Need the 2 magazine capacity and missile rack skills at least :

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9ee1c28edcb8b10
EDIT-Update : Replace 1 MRM 20 by 1 MRM 10 => you can go light engine, tankier but a bit less punchy, a matter of taste

Then comes my poking wacker (Engine can be replaced by XL for more speed, but loosing the deadside potential. Also, small lasers can be replaced by meds by removing 1 heatsink, i kind of switch between the 2) :

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0fe324166eefd7a

Bullet Storm Wacker is the next on the line, this one is well known anyway, double RAC5 for double fun (Can be replaced by double LBX10 or double UAC10/AC10. Also with XL engine you can put some lasers and get a bit more speed). The 2 magazine capacity skills are needed :

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ecbb6f87f27a721

My 2 final wackers are the 2 i call "the Toughwackers" , they have more variety in weapons, less alpha, but they are tough and effective :

First is the "Gunshop" : Versatility at its best : (He can be played with AC10, RAC5, UAC5 or LBX10, i vary between the 4 variants. Also can be played with LBX + 4 SRM 4 for a close range variant, or STD engine, LBX , 2 meds and 3 SRM 4 for the toughest wacker) The 2 magazine capacity & missile rack skills are needed at least :

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6b97492d32a3c4c
EDIT-Update : 4 MRM 10+ UAC 5 is my most effective build on this variant now.

Last variant, the second Toughwacker, the Hero one, my High Roller, the "Low Roller" : Not the biggest Alpha nor pinpoint, but good DPS and heat management and he's also the fastest variant I propose with a light engine. (A heatsink can be removed for a 4th med laser in the torso) At least 2 missile rack and 1 magazine capacity skills are needed :

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8be048f1c61661b

So here we are guys, many of my builds, if they attract you ,don't hesitate to give me your feedbacks.

If you don't want to test them all, I highly recommand the MRMSPECIAL, it's a real powerhouse people should get their hands on.
A 4 MRM 10 + Lasers can be done on the S2 too if you're not into machineguns.

Have a good day and i hope you'll enjoy !

I run the S2 similarly, but with an Ultra 10 and 4 SRM4s.

I really like my Bushwackers and have a few builds I enjoy.

For the BSW-P1 there's this build that works well; for faction play scouting I remove a ton of ammo and add a heatsink. I like pairing the two SRM2s with four SRM4s because you can alpha strike without ghost heat and by putting the SRM2s in first they become thin 'blades' in the top missile hardpoints instead of large (easier to hit) boxes..

For the BSW-X2 I use this build as my assault mech escort. It's slow, but can keep up with the heavier mechs and it's got a powerful pinpoint punch.

For the BSW-S2, while it makes for an excellent deadside SRM boat I own a BSW-P1 so that's my SRM boat. I decided to use the S2 as my LRM boat and it seems to work well. I chose Medium Lasers instead of ERMLs because they're intended as defensive weapons against those under-running the LRM minimum range rather than for adding damage to my LRM targets.

Yeah it's a powerful and common build you have with the deadside SRM boat. Saw some people building it like it.

I really like your P1 : your thinking with ghost heat & top missile hardpoint size sold me to try him.

I'm not much into LRMs for Bushwacker, even tho i did a 4 lrm 5 one for a while and it was really good, but i kind of stopped playing LRMS anyway, and I find Bushwacker funnier with midrange to shortrange builds.

Not a big fan of slowacker too tho' :P but with speed tweak it can still be decent probably !

The Bushwacker is a super fun mech. This is one of my favorite builds, The Gausswacker http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ab8ff875a462f4
Sure it's super slow but has a great peaking/sniping profile and no ever expects dual gauss on an IS medium lol

I have six Bushwackers so I tend to give them roles. You may notice that my LRM BSW-S2 can easily be reconfigured to the deadside SRM boat loadout or a nice deadside MRM striker, but I am of the opinion that mediums should be LRM boats rather than assaults. Mediums are better at positioning themselves and have the speed to run from many heavier mechs if you don't skimp on the engine. That also means they can keep closer to the front line so the missiles have shorter travel times giving the enemy less time to evade a volley.

With regards to my dual AC10 X2, yes it slow and when I drop it in I'm committing to being an assault or slow heavy's wingman but that's fine. The satisfying sound of the dual AC10s firing is what I like about the build. You can use an XL engine in it but just equipping dual AC10s in a Bushwacker is inviting an XL Engine Check. My pre-LFE build replaces the LFE225 with a 265XL, but with the LFEs came light ferro as well so this build would be my XL version today. That build should be able to maneuver around the map on its own, but if you lose a torso you're done.

Your link is broken but I'm guessing it's something like this build. I'm not a huge fan of dual gauss on the Bushwacker but with the changes to the light gauss I think I'll adjust my AC10 build to this build and see if the improvements to the light gauss make it work.

While you can fit two AC20s in a Bushwacker, This build is a monster if your prayers to the Jam God are answered.

I've been stuffing 3 LPL into a BSW-HR, but then I went and upsized the engine. I like the faster build better.

Light engine 300
3x ER-ML in LA
1x LPL in CT
3x (L)MG in RA,LT,RT
1x SRM-4 in LT

Season with armor, ammo and heatsinks to taste.

I had the exact same build on my High Roller before the new tech. With a STD engine tho' (so i was slower than your build) and a srm6+artemis instead of the 4.

Just bought the X2 because of the sale, it's a impressive little tank and I haven't even invested in the Skill Tree yet.

Going to keep experimenting during the Ballistic event.

The MRM 60 Whacker is a beast - highly recommend this build. You can't go wrong. The mech has the frontal toughness to facetime the enemy for long enough to let the MRM stream do it's job and that was before the recent patch that increased the missile velocity and range!!.

Try it - you will not be disappointed!

anyway to cram a snub-nose ppc or a light ppc in the center torso on the mrm X1 just feels like that slot should be used for something. I have 2 tons more ammo as this build does on my 120 mrm cyclops so was thinking could loose 2 tons there but don't want to run low

looks like I could drop my stock xl275 to a xl270 and toss out 1.5 tons of mrm ammo and fit a light ppc. mech lab wont let me but in game shows I can

This is the build I'm using/going to use. Broke atm so I'm using an XL engine I had laying around.

BSW-X2

That is my X2, she's pulling a positive KDR of around 1.01, but a W/L of 4.5... So I must being doing something right with it... As a point to help the build make sense, I run with arm lock off, so that as I turn my torso I can put UAC/10 shots behind me, a trick I learned and mastered during the time I spent piloting riding Dragons.

The Bushwacker is one of my favorites.
This is the build I run: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fe61fe88e3c8752 which has a 127pt alpha. Of course, it is only the first alpha, since I get a huge bump from the one shot rocket launcher.

It is a brawler build so you have to wait for the close range stuff. I usually hang by my team's assaults / behind cover and ambush the biggest target I can find with that first alpha. After that with speed tweak you can move as fast as some of the slower lights, so can play the harasser / work in behind and backstab role.
You need to build out the survival skill tree too, since you spend a lot of face time chugging away with the RAC and MGs - tough to do much torso twisting and still keep the steady stream of lead on target :)

Any recommendations for the X1? I tried AC20 + Snub PPC for a few games, not really liking it. Any mid range builds to recommend?

The 3X AC/5 and 4X AC/2 are surprisingly fun.

it's a amazing RAC/5 machine if RACs are your jam

and the double shotgun is good for late game crit seeking

I got sent to this build for the P2, though it seems to be similiar like yours :

I guess they are both viable?

I like running my BSW-X1 with a pair of UAC10's... https://mwo.smurfy-n...314da457dda58c3

Slow for a medium, but it usually chills with the heavies and assaults and just provides direct fire support.
