I’m using a pair of them in my Pay2Widow (-5% heat, +10% range and velocity, IIRC) with 4 LMG and 2 MPL. Having basically dual gauss but without the ammo is pretty nice. Then again, the Pay2Widow is my person best mech (my KDR is like 2x my next best robit), so it must be that.

The WHM 6R can replicate the build sans 2 LMG... the heat (-5% more for PPCs specifically) and velocity quirks (10% more) for PPC are better. Maybe 2 HPPC and a UAC5 is something I should try.

Not on a WHM. Way, way too hot.

???
I used to run 2 ERPPC (as hot as HPPC) and 2 UAC5/AC5. How is it too hot? O.0

Where are you going to put the heatsinks? You've got 6 tons and two extra slots to manage over the ERPPC build.

Also, ERPPC are 13.5 heat, HPPC are 14.5.

Ah, I mean 1 UAC5 (I said “A UAC5)” in the HPPC idea. So it has 4 more slots and 3 more tons to work with.

Just to update my own take on HPPCs since someone revived this thread. I still run em on a few mechs.

My pseudo-stock Warhammer 6R switched out regular PPCs for HPPCs due to the LFE freeing up tonnage.

Still enjoy my Grinner with 1 in the arm an 4 ERSL in the chest. I like it better than the 5MPL build if for no other reason than to differentiate it from all those MPL and ERML on my other Wolfhounds.

I had been running 1 on the arm of my Top Dog but switched this build out to a 5SS (Top Dog went to 8MPL).

Still running them on the K2 to take advantage of the quirks.

Dropped them from the Firebrand because I needed it for 2 AC10 4ML build that I had been running on a Jagger S but wanted to try that variant with LGRs to maximize cooldown and try the weapons in light of the patch.

Built one of my Grasshoppers ( forget which variant has the single high hard point in the torso) with the HPPC in the high hard point and ML in the rest. Shockingly effective though I build the thing purely for esthetics. Speaking of aesthetics, I also still have 2 in one arm of a sword an board BK with the rest of the hardpoints running ERSL. That too is pretty effective as well as long as you time the twist right and stay at about 110M.

I did try them on a Vindi for a while but dropped it to a Snub and 2ML and MRMs and am doing a lot better (not fast enough to stay outside of minimum when the lights pushed and not enough tonnage for decent back ups).

All in all, I still think of PPCs, but especially the HPPC as a higher skill weapon, and I lack that skill most of the time. I may put them on some other quirked mechs if/when I ever rebuild my assault mechs but so far the above is all I use em on. Lasers, especially 2LL vs HPPC just serve me better in almost all cases.

WHM-6R

That's my Warhammer of choice, I don't play much, but when I do take her out, she caves in skulls.

Also it's not a Warhammer with out PPC arms.

This is the build I came up with the for HPPC and UAC5
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0bee43a58a81609

I’ll try and actually try the MRM on it next. MRMs are versatile and offer a lot for the single harpoint.

Personally, running my MLX, whenever I saw a jackass running HPPCs I would charge right into them and face-**** them. Either that or open up the component carrying said HPPCs and crit them out before kiting.

Bruh, stuff that sink in the torso, strip the arm, get more ammo/bigger engine

the cooldown on HPPC is too long, otherwise i would use it more.

Heavy Large Laser working way better even though its not even PPFLD.

The only real use for HPPC is something like this, IMHO.

The Fafnir 5B will be able to do it while running slightly faster with one more DHS and a larger TCII.

It's no KDK-3, but it's still quite effective.

Weird, I really like the HPPC if I've got the tonnage/slots. Grasshopper 5H and Sparky do it well. The BLRs can really use them well too. 15PPFLD out of an energy weapon is very nice.

Right. TBF I used light 300 by default, if I was in my mechlab it would have turned out like this ;)

I think the mauler and annihilator can both run something like this. :0

They can, but the mounts are worse and the NSR actually has some pretty good agility for its class.

haven't used them at all myself then again I am rather new. I am thinking about swapping one of the standard PPCs with a heavy on my RGH-3A. right now it mostly stock with 2 PPCS (moved both to R torso) and 4 ML (head, L torso, L arm). still running the stock engine though.

oh and is it just me or do PPCs hit terrain A LOT more easily? seems a lot of the time I think I have a clear shot and no they pop in mid air about next to some obstacle.

Terrain LoD in this game is pretty bad, especially on maps like Polar Highlands. So the detail presented to you is at a lower fidelity than it actually is until you get really close and it pops in. Ergo, you can see through the edges.

Yep. I dont even both with PPCs anymore unless I have jumpjets. Because then I know my PPCs are clearing any invisible walls.

2 HPPC is actually slightly cooler than a 2 ERPPC build on my king crab, which to me is kind crazy.

IS ERPPCS have obscene range to top it off, which i find kinda nuts.
