According to the jarl's list I played almost 4000 games in season 15.

It appears so, it just says Season 15 rather than, stats from all seasons 15 being the latest. Which I could just check by looking at my stats right? IDK, it seems like a pretty inaccurate method of determining a player's skill or whatever, I know me being a guy with a pretty crappy score on that list doesn't get much say on it, but yeah, my one account and almost 4000 games rated overall (even my first games in my jenner with 20fps and 260 ping) that seems very accurate. My early days were rough.

The more recent Seasons are weighted more heavily, so as to help those who improve over time. It is also weighted against what weight class you play.
Quote
This will give full score around 500 games and each new season is weighed higher than the last. After this, the score is adjusted based on classes played.
The current class weights are:Light: 1.090671842, Medium: 0.9627151535, Heavy:0.9505204456, Assault: 0.91315593.
Progress is the progress a pilot has made this season compared to average.

Of course, the problem is staying in Tier 5. Even running a Kitfox with 3xcLAMS, ECM, NARC, 2xcERML and 2xcLMG I was out of T5 in like, two matches. You have to actively, deliberately throw to stay in T5.

Oh, gameplay and skill between T1 and T5 is exactly the same, but T5 has less open mic rage rants so its more peaceful

I remember when the 'New' MM was turned on, and that was my first and only impression of change - Matches suddenly got a whole lot more talkative when we went T1.
Unfortunately, calling/planning/complaining wise, most should talk less, and there's obviously no 'Controlling Hot Mic' requirement for T1.

T1 is utterly meaningless. It is purely a matter of time for all but the most inept of players.
In solo queue, an individual player rarely has a profound effect on the team's winning or losing. Either the team is good enough that one under-performing player won't drag them down, or they're bad enough that no player, no matter how good, can carry them to victory. A 50/50 win rate is all but guaranteed even if you're mediocre-at-best.
And you cannot lose PSR for a win, ever. And even for a loss, a MS above 250 will keep you even.
There are four 'brackets' of MS and how it affects your PSR.
For a win, 3 of those brackets result in a gain, 1 results in a stay.
For a loss, 1 of those brackets results in a gain, 1 results in a stay, and 2 result in a loss.
So out of 8 possibilities (4 brackets in two categories), only 2 result in a drop of PSR. 2 result in a stay, and 4 result in a gain.
Unless you are constantly losing, and constantly performing horribly WHILE losing, your PSR will rise and eventually hit T1 with enough games played.
