And btw. not allowing the players to choose to play what they want, is a bad business concept. I start to remember, why I stopped playing 5 month ago.

to be fair it's better to end a game faster with bad pugs than to have a game where you spend an extra 3 minutes and get the same results.

Nah, on other maps the situation can be salvaged in some way. In Canyon, pugs tend to go full derp--even when I tell them the perfect strategy for winning. The middle seems to have unnatural magnetism for baddies.

Hell, I wish I could get Terra Therma every day, even once.
As for Canyon, I remember when 30% of matches were on that map (30% being on HPG, 30% on Mining Collective, and 10% being on whatever I dumped my multiplier on). Dreadful having that map spammed. Now that its rare, I like it. So I'm ok with how it is now.

It would make more sense if they changed it so incursion and escort showed up less since they are not supported by all maps.

But how else will you try to push for the least liked game modes to be played, if not have them show up more often? I agree with you though, it doesn't support every map so it makes maps appear less of which is not a good thing.

Funny thing is that the middle seems to have all the cover. Unless of course you're being shot from above. At which point the result tends to be quite terminal for the unfortunate guy below.

Keyword is "seems". It is only after you bunch up in the middle that you realize the enemy can now shoot you from multiple sides, and mess you up with strikes.

It was a joke. Honestly the amount of people that need to be there is maybe 3? Have a few sniping with LoS. The mediums and lights do a flank? But you're right. The middle seems to attract much of stupid that really does sit at the middle.

Nobody wants to play Incursion and Escort anyway.
Canyon is currently the best map in a game, just because it has most optimal size (no bias towards faster 'Mechs), best snipe/brawl ratio (both are equally possible, enough cover), best variety of tactics - fight can possibly happen on every single inch of this map in opposite to new maps, where 99.99% of space is unused. Also faster matches (in terms of time, wasted on WalkWarrior Online) - mean faster player rotation = less problems with matchmaking.
What I personally see - it has been taken away from game for so long, that new players simply don't know how to play on it. They use exactly the same tactic, they use on most new maps - they just hide in a corner of a map, till enemies won't come and smash them, and rely too much on sniping/LRMing from safe distance. In opposite to new large open maps, that completely lack cover, so they just can faceroll with their ER-PPC/Gausses - this map is balanced, so brawlers can actually come closer and kill them. They just can't handle this simple fact and many teams simply suicide there nowdays only to return to their FrozenCityWarrior Online.
And Canyon is about constant fire support for your teammates - not about hiding in a corner.

Well, there are 14 maps. If every map comes up equally in those 200 matches, Canyon Network should appear (200/14 =~) 14 times.
Given that you said approximately 200 matches and factoring in that claims of that nature involve a great deal of selective perception and exaggeration to fit the claim (meaning it's probably more like 8 occurances in the last 150 matches), I'd say everything is fine.
I played Canyon Network several times every day in the last days.
I'd say the actual problem is that you want to play it like 30-50% of all matches, but it comes up only with the normal 14%, so you're disappointed that it's not up enough.
Not the game's fault.
(and btw it's a sh*tty map. A tiny map preferred by mindless suicide brawlers)
