Well, there are people like me that will cheerfully bully a light, but then I'm chasing them with missiles.
But FFS, don't run after them. That's what mediums and other lights are for, whereupon you add in a few comments with your launchers and shortly afterwards, the onelegged/half-torso annoyance is banished. And woe to the light that decides to run into the crowd. I appreciate those kills.

But now I need a light mech hunter?

No, but you can't use a screwdriver on a nail. Chasing a light in an assault, at best, takes you out of the fight as you waste your time chasing a mech you'll never catch. At worst, you get separated and die pathetically to a mech you outweigh by 60+ tons, by way of 'laser to the rear,'
As an assault, you're pretty much dependent on lighter mechs protecting your rear. If that's not to your liking, do what most other people do - Switch to heavies. They're a lot more self-reliant (Unless you put a minimum engine in).

What's scary is after the patch, you'll have one of the most rapid-fire laser users in the Clan arsenal.

But assaults tend to be at a disadvantage vs. lights, unless you can get a clean shot lined up early from something that can't be dodged away, like Gauss or PPC fire. Lasers are tough to keep on full burn to a single spot, Clan AC's spread damage (but many IS AC's work fine, as AC/20 + light = splat). If it can somewhat keep up with a light, you can generally deal with it better, and that means smaller robots vs. your 90-ton clunker.

You need to stay in your group, and call that light out to your light/med mechs on your team to deal with. Chasing the squirrel in an assault will lose you the game. Try using comms and get one of your smaller team members to chase it away. It was what my Centurion was born to do, before this patch and PGI dragon punched it in the jimmies.

streaks no longer targeting destroyed locations is a pretty huge buff for streaks though
streaks will murder lights like never before

LAMS = Check
Front Armor = Check
Radar Dep = 2 nodes, sacrifice armor nodes to get to 5?
When you're looking at 5 lrm boats worth of missiles, it can only do so much.
I know lrms are strong at qp, but they're boring. I've used an LRM 5 before, there wasn't much fun in it. I don't imagine 80 missiles would be more fun.

Actually LRMS are not strong. THey are the worst weapon in the game because of the manny hard counters to it. Once you get your positioning right and your map awareness on point you are free to laugh et the lrm guys.

Yes, a single NARC-er can be devastating on Polar and some other maps.. I usually always squeeze one into my LRM dropdeck, especially when I team up with my LRM dropdeck Fiancee.. Then we often control what happens, just the two of us..

You still didn't "Lurm" your lesson.
You would still get shredded by the LRMs trying to chase a mech you have no hope of catching.
The correct tactic is for your team to stop cowering and advance together to press into the enemy to nullify the LRMs by forcing a brawling fight under the minimum range of the LRMs.
LRM damage output will not compete with direct fire damage. So by staying in ineffective cover you are allowing the LRM users to optimize their LRM performance.
Force the face to face confrontation and now the LRMs are at a disadvantage.

If the enemy uses their weapons correctly the light mech being hunted is actually just baiting for the LRM carriers.
I do this all the time when I know I have a smart player on the LURMs. I run out with my light mech and drag an enemy into LRM optimal range and....SPLAT! dead enemy light.
The only sure fire way to counterthe LRMs is a concerted advance to force the direct face to face fight where LRMs fail to compete with other direct fire weapons.

And you have unfavorably traded effective tonnage in a fight.
I run up with 20 tons of Locust and get your 90 tons of Cyclops to turn and chaseme and my team now has a 70 ton weight advantage on the front.

This is an optimal scenario. Quick Play is not known for those. I have gone many games without anyone saying anything tactical in chat (we did say stuff, just not tactical stuff), myself included. No one even used a mic (I don't have one). We just want to have a nice tactically negligent game. Which is why lrms are strong I guess. They're normally weak as someone pointed out elsewhere, but when potatoes such as myself are playing they become very strong. Especially in combination with a competent light mech using a tag.
Clearly the answer here is to nerf good players somehow... WAIT WAIT! I TAKE IT BACK! I DIDN'T MEAN IT SERIOUSLY!
