Greetings MechWarriors,
The Battle for Luthien has come to an end, yet no side can claim a true victory. While the forces of House Kurita and the Inner Sphere were able to prevent the fall of Luthien to the Clan invaders, losses on both sides have been staggering. The Capital Homeworld of Kurita is in near-ruins; its population devastated. It is only thanks to a final push, one last strive for some semblance of victory, that the banner of Kurita still flies over this scarred planet.
Battered and depleted, the forces of the Inner Sphere were not in a position to capitalize on this pyrrhic victory and have not been capable of capturing any lost systems. While the Clans were driven off-world they still hold a vice grip over the surrounding territory.
However, the terms of the battle were clear. The Clans have failed to capture Luthien, and must now set their sights on Capitals deeper into Inner Sphere territory; Capitals already encircled by the Clan forces.
With supply lines and resources strained to their limit, and with desperate times ahead, IS leadership has had no choice but to order all Quartermasters to retain all Mauler chassis initially reserved for distribution upon total victory.
Both Inner Sphere and Clan Aligned faction Players can Claim the Defeat Rewards for their efforts in the Battle For Luthien.
Stay tuned for further battle statistics to be released.

I would love to see some of the actual statistical results, please. (regardless of what the progress bar said at the end of the night).
Similar to what was posted on some of the previous large events.

The Inner Sphere rallied one last, defiant stand.

It took everyone by surprise.

Magic! or IS have wery good pug premade. And they are were hiding all time from all premades... I have expected something like that. IS must won or it must be tie.

Instead of a progress bar, let's instead go with which side won a greater percentage of Invasion battles.

while i dont like the result, i really dislike the flame-attacks on the pgi people during and after the event.
i can understand frustration ... i was pretty frustrated myself. but no one involved did this on purpose.

imho pgi learnt from this, but some players still didnt...

That is just ******** @PGI

The Clans didn´t reach their Goal in the last Hours so the Inner Sphere won the Event period
Give them their Mauler.

I don't get it. Every time I logged in and for the entire weekend the bar was hard over at 98% clan or better.

When during the event did it ever move over to the IS side by more than a couple of percentage points?

Of course, they might have been measuring from the perspective that the IS managed to move the needle off of 100% clan, and given the huge power imbalance between clan and IS, that means it's a draw... after all, they clearly acknowledged the power imbalance by offering an assault mech to IS versus a crappy light mech for the clans.

Otherwise it just doesn't make sense.

Quite literally, a lot of IS players Leeroy Jenkins'd it up at around 9 AM EDT (1 PM UTC) for the last three hours of the event today, hoping to fight like hell to push that bar to the other side.

No one really stopped to consider what might happen if they didn't make it.

If I understand correctly, this was a Trial of Refusal. If the Clans failed to take the planet, even if the IS failed to reach the victory point on the bar; failure by the clans equals a win for the IS. Therefore, the Clans can no longer attack Luthien.

The rewards are fine, cbills plus a mb but it's hard to believe that a week event can just be decided by a "supposed" last minute effort. Whats the point?

Yeah, that's a pretty solid reason why CW was so bad at the start

Nothing mattered until the end. The extra time zones helped a little...but when nothing matters aside from the last 2 hours, what's the point?
