And then PGI brought out the Nova Cat. I wanted it for the stupid fun of being the ultimate SpudGun, the thought of flinging 90 LRMs with abandon.
But then I loaded the Prime up, with 2x LPL in the Torsos, and 5x MPL in the Arms, a TC1 and rots and rots of Heatsinks.
And for some reason it was fun in the way that Wubhammer, Black Knights, etc never were.
What black magic have you bewitched me with, PGI??????

Laser vomit on clan mechs run way cooler because you can have soo many more heatsinks on a clan mech.

I've run plenty of Clan Laser Vomit, from Timbies to Warhawks and Direwhales, Novas, etc. Never found em interesting without mixing in SRMs or MG or an AC. Heck... Nova Cat ain't even an optimal gundam, but it's fun.

Well then maybe it's not something logical. Like my love for King Crabs. I'm not that good with them, but they are just fun somehow.

pretty much this, I imagine. Always loved the NovaCat in MW4, but ran the 3x UAC5/2xLPL version. Don't have the Charlie yet, so can't do that. But the Prime and Bravo are plenty fun as is. Alpha... eh... JJs on it aren't really that exciting.

Plot twist; when the first quad comes out it'll have 4 nova cat legs with the same exact animation and even smaller foot actuators.

this game is boring no matter what combination of weapons you use
because every gamemode is skirmish and skirmish is the most dumbed down gamemode there is

I came to shoot mechs. If I wanted to do something else, I would play Neverwinter Nights.
Oh wait, I do that in between MWO matches.

skirmish holds this game up like atlas holds up the sky. the quality of the mode declines the further it gets away from this simple premise. but hey, at least MW5 and battletech will be out soon

Hawken isn't MechWarrior so, no.
You don't seem to understand that shooting mechs is the pillar of any PvP MechWarrior game.
You want to blow up factories or defend convoys or attack palaces? That's single player MechWarrior ****.

I keep one TBR loaded with LRM15s just in case, along with a HBR & WHM with arm PPCs...

obviously youve never even played mechwarrior 4 or mechwarrior living legends in multiplayer
because the most popular multiplayer gamemodes in those games were way more than just deathmatch.
they had strategic objectives that you had to attack/defend/capture. way bigger maps too.
the closest thing in MWO is conquest... which is probably the least bad gamemode. which is why they use conquest for comp play a lot of the time, its the most fair gamemode for all the weight classes, prevents camping, and forces play on the whole map.
even a derisive game like hawken has more depth than MWO in its siege gamemode.
laser vomits fine people need to stop complaining about it like its the games biggest problem. its not. the #1 reason MWO suffers is because every gamemode is skirmish and skirmish is wholly unsatisfying to play.

Not LL, but I did play MW4, and I remember shooting mechs, with respawns.
