Good evening... NOT!!! You two apparently haven't been keeping up on the MWO News Feed, and so you trigger people unnecessarily! As this person said...

You can redeem them now on webpage too. Same applies for older events I guess.
...and has already been noted by PGI's
Matt Newman as well
on his post at https://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/258442-civil-war-escalation-mech-pack-challenges/page__view__findpost__p__5923932...

...the Events are all now Redeemable on the Website at
the Events page, located at https://mwomercs.com/events, and further
specifically at https://mwomercs.com/events/16 for this particular Event! Sure, you might have to login on the Website, but at least you don't have to go so far as to start up the MWO Game Client, and you now have the ability to preview what is involved in completing an Event even before you begin it! Hell, excuse my being so extremely blunt, but PAY SOME ATTENTION TO THINGS BEING NOTED ON THE WEBSITE AND FORUMS BEFORE YOU START CRACKING REMARKS, otherwise you're looking at making more people really upset at you in one manner or another!!! Also of note, PGI is NOT able to safely set this up to display without being logged in. There is a script in the page that updates it once-per-minute, but without bogging down people's computers, and that wouldn't be able to function properly without a Login Identifier to tie into. Aren't you two,
Jed T Redding and
Shinrazor, able to keep the computers that you use secured against viruses/malware/spyware/keyloggers/etc., such that your logins are never being spied upon?!?!?
With that said, let's switch mental tracks...

Another great event with doable objectives.
I find your thought arguable, at best. However, I can be a real long-winded critic at times. I'll break this down into a few Bullet Points...
(
pun totally intended, sorry... those other people I was replying to just got me all twisted up)
- Having a bug that won't register "Non-Solo Kills" towards one of the six Challenges made "The Hunter" particularly tough to contend with. It's hellishly hard to complete a Challenge where someone has to do top damage to a single target, even when they're trying to focus it, because there will always be someone else who might have the ability to out-damage them. This bug massively expanded the time I needed to complete that particular Challenge, and left me wondering if I would ever finish it.
- Getting those "Solo Kills" for "The Lone Wolf" was also annoyingly tough with the number of 'Kill-Stealing Jerks' out there who think it's fun to jump in like a 'Glory Hog'. I got really ticked off several times from not being able to receive proper award for my efforts, all while having already pulled the trigger and being unable to call off what hits a teammate in the back. It really sucks when I'm using Direct-Fire Weapons, and I've already pulled the trigger only to have someone steal from me by jumping in, which gets me penalized for something I'm unable to control at that point. If anything in this type of situation, PGI should only be penalizing the person who didn't watch where they were going, because they're getting their teammates wrongfully punished! However, seeing as they probably can't make the game decipher intent, PGI would have to resort to punishing both parties for the Team Damage, which would likely be the best approach to the matter. For reference, it's problems like this that keep driving me back to using those overnerfed, awful LRMs!!! (And that doesn't account for the several problems I have -- between computer-based and genetic-type issues -- with even trying to properly use Direct-Fire Weaponry.) Frankly, LRMs need a BaseLine Range Boost back to 950 Meters, just to provide compensating power against more than 50 different counters!!!
...but other than these two Bullet Points, the Event actually happened to be a welcome relief to see from PGI (
probably Matt Newman in particular... they should give him a Forum Title of "The Event Writer")... If someone were to ask me for an Event Review Rating Number, I think I would be looking at giving this an...
8.6/10
...because while these two problems made things frustrating, at least there wasn't a complete breakdown behind the scenes like the last Event that I gave a rather harsh and extremely low Rating Number to. Plus, I have to give PGI credit for the 'War Horn'/'Hanging Cockpit Item'/
(
MC)/GXP which I am thankful for their willingness to provide those as Event Rewards to MWO's Community. In fact, I have to give them extra kudos for matching the Mech XP earnings on this Event with an equal-sized chunk of GXP, which is reflected in my Rating Number! We'll have to look forward to PGI fixing those bugs however before the Next Event comes plodding along, otherwise they might want to spice up the Reward Pots a tiny pinch better on the potentially more frustrating challenges. Increased Challenge Difficulty because of a programming bug is very much opposite the definition of 'fun', at least in my personal opinion.
Now, as for me, I got lucky on available time, and finished the Event within the first 16 hours of the available time. Frankly, I was afraid when I made my initial estimate that Real Life was going to strip me of far too much time to ever have a chance at finishing the Event. However, even with that happening, I have kindly been helping keep the queue numbers up where I can, as there has been some fun knocking around a few pilots who have been using those 'New CW:E Mechs'. You'll likely see me around at least once or twice more on the battlefield (
I hope! I can't really promise this 100%!) before the end of the "Weekend Warrior Personal Challenge Event". Like some would say, even with the current state of MWO, you can't let the Events be the only reason that you're active on the battlefield.
