Is There Even A Way To Make The Osiris Viable?

But oh boy... In practice I have never seen a mech that had so little going for it. I would argue that even the spider is far superior to the Osiris. The worst front/back profile of any light mech I have played and legs that fall apart just by looking at them. Even if it got +10 armor to every component it would feel squishy.
Then we can have a look at the loadout options. This thing feels anemic to say the least, if it had the benefit of clantech I might not have so much of a problem, but apparently someone nerfed half of the low tonnage weapon options for IS. 6erml would be the go to meta choice of course. Never mind the recent nerf, and that there are tons of lights that do this build much, much, better. ie wolfhound, firestarter, jenner. But like I said before the profile is super wide, and you could get popped by a single alpha from a clan laser boat if you get caught. Mpls require you to get close, which isnt going to happen unless you are a master of stealth. Srms and mgs, same thing. Javelin can tank 5x the fire the osiris can, and boat srms.
I mostly just want to know why it wasnt tested and given quirks to compensate at all, like pretty much every mech released in the last year (except the Uziel) It's like they just gave up on it and threw a bunch of random quirks that dont help the huge issue with survivability.
Does anybody have any way to make it even bearable to play? Suggestions? Quirk suggestions?

The 'Mech is nothing special. Hitboxes are meh, speed is great, payload is actually as good as it gets for IS Lights. I did feel like I was getting hung up on stuff that my Locust or Mist Lynx wouldn't, but again I don't have it fully skilled out. I don't like them enough to spend 91 GSP on them.
My only quirk recommendations are more armor and, as applicable to every IS 'Mech, 10% energy heat gen reduction.

It always confuse me when people want armor on light me mech? You are not meant to be getting shot at. Use your speed stop being lazy and relocate. In my eyes its a great mech, alot like my Ravens and I love all of mine. Still stoked I got mine for free.

The armor isn't so you can tank, it's so you can survive some of the incidental hits you are going to take regardless of how you play. A 'Mech that directs incoming damage to critical areas more than others because of its shape/size needs hitpoints on said critical areas.
That said, I don't think the Osiris is anywhere near as bad as some other 'Mechs. It's not amazing, but it's not horrible, either. It is fast, nimble, jumpy, and has all the right guns in all the right places.

Then there's always just meds + MGs.
Armor i've found to be quite substantial given its size and role. I've taken some serious hits in it and still survived.
It does suffer from space&tonnage though, even with that XL it's pretty hamstrung, though should be played like a slightly fatter locust.
Im enjoying what little i've had so far.

It doesn't spread damage very well, owing to its rather large side torsi. Using a XL in this is practically a death sentence as a 2 HPPC shot can either outright kill you or cripple your mech. Using a LFE doesn't leave you with enough tonnage to do anything worthwhile. I think that unless it was somehow shrunk to the size of an Urbanmech, it would probably remain a piece of junk forever.

Maxed speed Xl is the only way to run it. If its anything like the Locust. AMS is a good option as well. AMS is like extra armor.
I don't know if this mech will be good on straight up one on ones. But piloted correctly it should do ok.
Its a new good looking mech. Very possible to do well in.

The issue is this mech is just plain, flat out, fragile. It blows up whenever anything even looks its way. Even running at 151 kph it falls apart the second the enemy gives it any attention what so ever. That being the case, the only thing that can save it is giving it the Urbie treatment and slap a whole lot of armor quirks on it.

I have 5 mediums on my Locust. No ER. ER are hotter. Also have AMS because its none heat tonnage put towards defense. Of course max armor and max speed XL.
Other weapons may work but will be tougher to use.

Its agility is not as good as the locust or commando...so zipping around and trying to circle around assaults is a little bit more challenging. Skilling to full accel/decl helps tremendously, though at first though you'd think it has enough to begin with.
Play it at range 300-400m.
Its plenty viable. I've had 600-900dmg games in them and pull consistent 300-400dmg.
Though being a light..you get those derp moments when you accidentally run head on into the enemy team and get waxed...but meh...its my favorite of the 3 mechs i bought(wolf/novacat).
I like it a heck of a lot better than my raven and locust.

9 tons with some armor shaving on XL 285. It really isn't much.
