I'm surprised to hear so many people turn off VOIP as a matter of course. Yes, we all get the occasional ranter (or drunkard) in VOIP, buts its easy to just mute that person.

VOIP is the one thing that can salvage an unruly PUG team if just a few will listen. I'm not much for drop calling, but I'll sing out when I spot an isolated mech, or when I have a hard lock on a target for the inevitable LRM boats on my team. And when someone lets me know I've got a fast mover approaching from the back while I'm lumbering along in my assault mech, I'm very grateful.

Seems like turning off VOIP is a handicap.

So, we're on grim.

We start on the platform side. It's skirmish.

I teill team that I will run straight to where the other team's assaults will emerge on their way from spawn to platform. To G7 where the other team almost always wants to go to meet our team.

One nova follows me.

I mark an awesome and land a few hits.

There's a catapult with the awesome.

I distract both a bit. We trade.

A thunderbolt had apparently turned around as well and runs straight at me.

And a stormcrow.

By now I realize that basically 5 - 6 heavy and assault and medium mechs are turning on me.

I retreat and use my fantastic headset to communicat the following in the English language:

'They are completly split.

Rush G7 now. You will destroy them.

I repeat. They are hilariously spit. Just push G7 right now all of you'.

The entire team - our team - stands not at G7 but at the other side of the platform. All of them. Looking at G7ish.

Everybody except the nova and myself....

Our team doesnt react.

They stand there.

No reaction.

I shake my head, and repeat: 'Guys....half the team is here chasing me. GOGOGOGO G7'.

They dont react.

Naturally, we loose cause those cowards are so bad that I quite frankly doubt that even one of them has ever in their entire life approached a hot girl.

Are men not ashamed when they look in the mirror and only see a complete coward in the mirror?

And that were T1 and 2 players. Not that the Tiers mean anything. But that's jsut so weird. You provide game winning intel. That would have been the easiest stomp in the history not only of mwo but any and all pc and video games in the history of pc and video games.

They just stand there. Timidly. Indecisive. Waiting to get massacred finally so they can join another game and get cannonfodder-noob-style dominated by superior, better simply smarter players.

God, i really dont enjoy to play with those cannonfodder players.

Ok lets see how this situation looks from the other side.

I sit in my Marauder IIC-D with dual ERLLaser and Dual Gauss protected by ecm and a topspeed of just over 65kph.
On my radar the usual and while skirmishing potential deadly and totaly useless lemming train trail expands from the starting points where the assaults just finished turning and accelerating towards the battlefield and some hillarious little nascar racers that already reached the usual bad position between the buildings on the plattform instead of folowing the simple rule of just follow the friggin atlas.

I just finished the way when somebody obviously got bored and instaed of sitting tight and keeping their eyes peeled for lights that could harm the still approaching slower assaults he already sticks his head out and starts to screem bull about pushing and split enemys and other stuff....well guess what.... he goes poff before I can stop eyerolling about so much squirrelness.

Not only this first dead (at least he did some dmg and used up dome of the enemys ammo) completely ignored the potential not brawling or push suitable configuration of the rest of the team and did nothing but annoy ppl and sowing confusion...no sir he additionaly incited the first death and caused the team to start of deprived by one body.

There are always two extremes.
And fast, organized moves in a pug game where neither loadouts nor personal agendas are coordinated is certainly one extreme. And to be sure, it is as disruptive and desstructive as the oposite.

What OP is describing isnt a coward, its someone who doesnt or cannot pay attention to team chat/voice chat. Maybe they have a hearing disability, maybe they dont speak the language, maybe its someone's kid using the account and randomly hitting buttons.

Everyone has seen it before.

"Hey X, where are you going? The whole team is going this way"

[no response, the player in question keeps walking around in circles]

"Uh, dude, you reading this?"

[he eventually wanders into LOS of the enemy team and they gank him while he fires LRMs within min range and overheats]

Well, you can rant so much, cause mwo players are such weak examples of men.

I like those players that immediately communicate. They react. They either ask 'wanne push here or there....wanne meet their nascar? Or should we nascar'.

Or they have an idea.

And theres those teams - sadly so many are like that - that just stand their and do....nothing. They say....nothing. They do.....nothing. They cant even understand when you tell them simple stuff.

I can literally see them in their lifes. Just like in mwo they stand there timidly in their lifes. Never risking anything. Never being adventurous. They dream of cute girls but would never even dream of going for what they want. They are confused little babys.

So unattractive. I have no respect for such ppl. They are so weak.

I have the greatest respect for ppl that say 'okay....im kinda not so confident in this or that area but I wanne improve'.

I like helping ppl and I coach young or not so young men to be more confident, coach them e.g. how to give compliments to girls or how to practice social skills. how to be more congruent.

I respect ppl that at least try.

But those ppl that are daft stones that cant hear or see anything, never move, never ******* go for anything......i just cant respect them.

This game i just saw....****, I wish i would have recorded it and posted it here so you could all see.

That should be a mandatory video for new mwo players to watch. To see how you loose. Over and over again. how you just stay the cannofodder dood that feeds the kills and stats of all other players.

Quite pathetic. Who could respect such ppl.

if one bases their evaluation of who are men or not off a video game, methinks one needs to get out more.

So what were you piloting? Seeing how you mention so many other mechs by type, but not your own, seems like dubious.

communication, especially at EU time is a lot worse because they often don't speak or undertsand the other languages well.

Golden rule in QP: Nobody wants to be the 1 in a 12-1 steamroll. Let someone else tank the damage while I take free popshots at enemies focused at someone else.

You see this behaviour everywhere, even from the popular streamers/Youtubers: key phrase "2nd line".

I know I'm a bit late to respond, but this seems like a classic case of MWO mentality..

Sadly, people that understand that MWO is a team effort are usually playing with their units.

The rest of them are playing solo.. nobody cares about anybody, nobody will help anybody, and sometimes, out of shear spite, they will even actively hinder their teammates.. (Like not pressing the "R" button on purpose, just to "teach those LRM noobs their place and how bad they are").

If you are a slow assault, and you get swarmed by lights, you can beg for help that will never come. You can pop a UAV and hope shear greed will send a few teammates your way.

If you are scouting, and see a tactical opening, but are far ahead of your teammates, you can't expect them to take advantage. Instead, you can expect a quick death if you don't retreat, because people will be like "oh, it's just a solo yolo-ing light, f**k him..".

On occasion, people will even actively block friendly fining lines in an attempt to get a kill shot. They will hide and pad their KDR. They will TK a friendly on the basis of a grazing shot or a close proximity LRM lock loss that ends up in their back.

In short - people in this game are toxic, greedy, solo-oriented, and generally unsupportive.

Those that aren't are few and sparse, or are in units, dropping with people that actually have their back and want to work as a team.

The way you project your subjective observations in a game onto the player's real life sadly invalidates your whole point.
I respect ppl who can ignore other players/people's lack of skill and who are able to just move on without feeling superior to those guys.

Yes, sometimes you can't facepalm yourself enough in some matches, but this are only 5-10 min of your life. For each 'bad' team you get there is one waiting on the enemy side for you to farm on next match. So be a strong guy and move on instead of calling others who you don't know weak.

TBF, there is an event going on, where you need to do around 200 damage to qualify. Dying early on from a push is not preferable.

People, especially EU players, are just far to passive on the platform side on Grim no matter the mode. Just last night I was holding the center circle on Dom alone for 3 minutes in my Vindicator before I got overwhelmed. Where was everyone else? Sitting on entire sector square away shooting at walls with ERLLs and LRMs... the entire team. Including me, there were 3 mechs that were not carrying ERLLs or LRMs and two of those where light mechs. And the thing is, I even said "Get into the f7 corner trench asap or we will lose" and had at least 5 people say "Okay" (in various ways). I guess they just wanted to lose because in my Vindi with a stock engine, I was the first to reach the point and the only one of my team to be in it within the first 5 minutes of the match.

blah blah blah EU to passive

Oddly I play at 2 am in the morning American prime and still find myself leading a push in a medium mech in a team full of Meta heavies and assaults

Not saying all EU players, just that its a common occurrence in EU server to the point where it is the rule and not the exception.

Yesterday, I had the luck of dropping a number of matches in my Gneisenau and Bismarck as a top tier ship. As everyone knows, when top tier, those thing can brawl it out and tank ****loads. I informed my team I would be pushing in, kindly asking them to support me. In 4 out of 5 cases my ship went under in glorious 1 vs. 5 fights taking a few enemies with me or at least crippling them.

Indeed, 1 vs. 5,... Even informed and having a tank soaking up damage, my teammates preferred to turn tail at the first sight of the enemy.

Darn those cowardly MWO players,... oh, wait,...

'ps. But darn did I have fun!)

I think the MWO version would be being in an AS7-D and pushing a side with your team following. You then spot 2 heavy mechs, so your teams turns around and flees in fear. Not noticing this on the minimap because you are focused on the Brawl, you keep pushing. A few more enemy mechs shot up and they dispatch you in short order. When you spectate your team, you see that noone was anywhere near you despite having at least 7 friendlies surrounding you when you started the push.

You also need to be aware people can turn off their VOIP and team chat, so there's chances some people never heard you to begin with.

Most of the stuff in VoIP or Chat are not worth hearing/reading and can cause serious brain damage when you try to find any logic in it. Posted Image
