The Clint is a classic 40 ton humanoid scout battlemech that comes with an AC5 and 2 Medium Lasers, along with Jump-jets and an improved targeting system (give it a built in targeting computer MK.1-5 quirk wise).

This Battlemech indeed doesn't have "strong" instant damage output like the Meta-fied battlemechs that a few players tend to flock to and it has a "downside" a few players would whine about, which is low slung arms, however this Unit has potential because it's size (almost reaches the same size of the current hunchback and it's skinnier), It also has possible quirk buffs and uses as a Sniper/Harasser which will increase their damage by the end of game (maybe 300-600 on average).

Sniping you can add around 2-3 Large Lasers to soften up the target for your team or mount an ER PPC and poptart to soften up your enemies like the shadow-cats do it, as a Harasser you can use small ballistics like the RAC and AC and walk around the map and just annoy the hell out of that LRM Atlas or maybe the Laservomit Cauldron Born.

All in all this mech would be a fun addition to this game would most likely add some nostalgia to the community, people wanted the Urbanmech so badly but people almost never use it so it's safe to add the Clint

TL&DR
The Clint is a fun and nostalgic mech but wont be as "strong" as the SRM assassin or SRM Bushwhacker, but it can be used as a sniper/harrasser to get some damage in.

Omg You already got your Night Star and I don't think we will get them for a long while unless we add more lights/mediums/heavies because they are mostly assaults (I dont know why PGI just doesnt do mech release by 4 of the same class)

It won't sell, if you're willing to buy 500 packs, I'm sure PGI will oblige :)

Because it's another generic boring humanoid redundant Mech that would do nothing but waste developer resources?

edit: oh, and it looks like a monkey.

Humanoid mechs are better and look cooler than chicken legged walkers, besides in the lore Humanoid battlemechs have more balance than broken knee battlemechs. this is proven not to be an Opinion but a fact by your local battlemech research facility.

There are so many more nostalgic mechs that are actually cool. Conjurer-MS, Argus, Hauptmann, Hollander II, and FFS my VF-1 Wasp-o-Stingers.

Forgot about Chimera

The Stinger and Wasp should come soon they just need time, I don't see the Hauptmann happening for awhile and the Hollander is possible.

He didn't want it anymore because the arms were lower!
people say they want some mechs but never use them!

I meant in private messaging. There was a time he agreed it was one of the top 3 best possible IS assaults. Sadly it's been demonstrated that IS mechs can't match the Deathstrike or other top Clan mechs.

It's problem is the arms are too far apart which kills convergence. It's not nearly as bad as some seem to think but that's probably just from everyone hoping for too much.

I always wanted the really old school mechs. The ones in high use and every one used them like the Stinger, wasp and the Dervish. We need more old school mechs, even if the newer ones out class them I don't care. Not the reason why I play this game.

Quirks can save anything, but just because they can doesn't mean they will. PGI has been very stingy with quirks ever since people starting crying out against "overquirked" mechs years ago. Never expect anything significant.
