I like the head bob, makes you feel like you're in a giant war machine.

I wonder if you can paint mechs, because I'm willing to bet some people would want to roll in a flaming hot pink death machine. lol

Also I don't know how I feel about procedural generated maps, the tech has gotten light years better than it was 5 years ago, but still. Have to wait and see.

I was impressed after watching that video. The weight and immersion of the Shadow Hawk in example still are there since the alpha footage from mech-con. As it should be.
I thought first, that after he took out that camp, that it would be a cake walk. Just take out a few measly vehicles, some towers and chopters. Then he start assaulting the freaking base, taking on A Catapult K2, then a pair of locusts, then a Jager and an Atlas. I know it was a show-off, demo etc but he surely chewed over more than he could possibly take.

Loved the weapon effect. The laser actually looks like a freaking laser, leaving behind burn marks on the buildings for example.

Not to forget the lovely building destruction!!!!!

But the writer of that article had a few details wrong, maybe because of all the excitement.
Atlas, a "heavy class mech"...
And that he piloted a Jaeger?? Or maybe he pointed out Pacific Rims Jaegers, since they also are mechs, so he role played a bit. Posted Image

The last sentence reads:

The legendary "Shadow Hawk" Jaeger. I'd recognize that left side ballistic mount just about anywhere.

Damn, that looks insane. Hope to be continually impressed by MW5's development. I'd hate for it to fall flat, but that gameplay looks insane. Especially with the terrain interaction and procedurally generated maps. So cool!

The weightiness of the mech is felt. Great touch for immersion. The reuse of MWO assets is expected both visually and audio wise, but, frankly, it works well. No complaints from what I see, except for one:

Noticed you cannot read the targeted enemy loadout. Enemy type, damage distribution, variant, sure. But loadout and weapon status seems to be missing or intentionally omitted. Not even sure if I find this a complaint, honestly. It makes for a good reason to learn what specific variants are, I suppose.

I know it's still early, but will we be able to roll out lances with AI teammates? Or are all missions solo runs?

But still shadowhawk taking multiple ppc hits and still having armor intact?? what are the values at?? x10?
No nvm its just cheats... 999 ac5 ammo.

All it needs is Music,Melee,Knockdown,DFA,RadioChatter,Landscape/Graphical Touches/Improvements,Different Hud Targeting,Betty Talking Sequence,Civilians/Infantry,Ambience,Animals,Ability to get outside of mech while in combat zone.

But just look at pounding it got, locust, jagermech, catapult, multiple tanks, helis, turrets, even atlas and it took them that long to take it down...

The game is looking really good. I love the sounds in the game a lot too!

I would take a lot of that kind of detail with a grain of salt. Things like ammo, armor values, etc... are probably buffed way up for the demo. Heck, I think the ammo said 9,999 or something like that.

Overall I think we were watching an Alpha build, and one tweaked to run as a demo.

Now we just gotta worry about bugs. They better do some good QC on it. Seen many a game get bad reviews just because of bugs.
