Personally, I love "Burning Chrome." Stomping around an ice canyon to it was fantastic.

Burning chrome is a very good music.

I like to some version of mechwarrior 2 soundtrack, from Timothy seals.

Bouk Obelisk (Track 08 on the CD), heavy drums... for a battle on a low-G moon if I recall correctly. I used that track, more than any other by far, to get my firstborn son to go to sleep (he's 3 now).

For GBL: Track 09, the one for the battle where you're defending the base on your starting ice planet.

For Mercs: Track 20, Gotterdammerung (plays when you go up against the Dread Legion and have the option to just turn around and walk away. "Whatever they're paying, we'll double it." Do we ever get to find out what the DL found?

Mechwarrior 2’s “Umber Wall” is by far my favorite. Actually one of my favorite gaming songs in general.

Whilst I love most of 'em, (and still have the old cd to play em with,) if your asking for my personal favourite, it is often 'plum wine'. Perfect music for leading a push an getting stuck in.

For me, it seems like most songs in the MechWarrior 2 soundtrack . The ones above are excellent choices (Plum Wine, Umber Wall, Bouk Obelisk, etc...). The mix of techno elements, orchestral, and tribal sounding elements just come together perfectly!

If I had to pick just one song, and one that hasn't been mentioned yet, it would be "Iron Piston". I love the thumping beat, and then the metallic stomping sound that just crashes into it (reminding you that your in a massive war machine).

Mirror Cage is also a good runner up for me as well.

But really, almost every song in the game is just pure gold.
