uacs are really not scary now that their jam time is like 8s lmao

and when you pop out, and your UAC jams on the second shot, you literally just took a 50+ point laser alpha with nothing to show for it because of RNG jamming.

they need to get rid of RNG jamming. its the absolute worst mechanic. and it only serves to force laser vomit on clan players even more because of how unreliable it makes UACs.

having to give facetime with the uncertainty that your weapon will even do damage is terrible.

Even my old kdk3 still peforms admirably and its my goto mech when solo kills are required for the event easily able to pull off 1000 damage and 5-8 kills with that.

But like with all dakka its a build for deathballing and when you roll up with them they do wreak havoc upon enemy without drawbacks of spread weapons.

Alex makes great art. Yay! (People LOVE this)

PGI original mech. Mmm not gonna commit on this. Could go either way. (Did anybody ask for this?)
Also looks like giant locust.

Not a Crusader. Booo! (Many people asked for this)

Not a Rifleman IIC. Booooo! (Many people asked for this)

So much for 30 years of TRO. (People DEFINITELY asked for this)

Combined arms is good. The use of massed same-same weaponry is ... boring. :)

I think PGI is more concerned about making their "mark" on the franchise before we get the final ultimatum on the HG court case. They are probably thinking about worst case scenario and want something that battletech fans will remember them for. IMO, it doesn't make sense to me because they openly admitted that they had poor sales with the Roughneck. I know many people including myself are not thrilled with another non-canon design, when the Roughneck was rather lackluster itself.

Just cross your fingers and hope that the case ends before September 2018, so that we can get the mechs that we know and love much sooner than later.

I think it will be ok and all but at 70 tons I think this mech should have been a battlemech instead of an omni. The other two options are omni's why three?

Bleh, why create a 70t mech, when the Nova Cat almost literally just came out?

HUGE opportunity lost, by not doing a 55t or 60t mech instead.

PGI logic strikes again.

Bonus note: There is actually a seventh Sun Spider variant (a second Hero) coming out as a Holiday Bonus reward, but we won't see it till March 2018.

The rest of the Sun Spiders don't come out until March 2018 themselves.

PGI wants this mech to be as successful as possible, which means heavy class, and high mounts. 60 tons is too light for a heavy mech. Also PGI doesn't wish to have people refund their Black Lanner preorders so no 55 tonner. Nova Cat is slow mech so Sun Spider does offer different option with enough weight savings compared to Summoner. Since it is PGI made mech, it is a good bet that its quirks will be generous, Clan tech aside.

60-tonners can work out fine if they have good innate design traits such as the high-mounts of the Sun Spider and/or good quirks (like the Dragon and Quickdraw used to). Plus the Clans only have the Vulture for this weight interval right now, which is pretty limiting...

Right, I just wanted to make it clear given everything but the new robots shows up immediately as part of the Holiday Bonus, and we're not getting this one as a preview.

So many bloody options in the lore, and they make their own little FrankenMech. May whomever made the decision to create this live a long and interesting life.

It's now PGI's tradition to announce their own mech in every MechCon. Wasn't surprised.
