At first, when I saw the trailer the lore warrior in me was a little miffed because Solaris hadn't been a battleground since the 3rd succession war. I looked it up on Sarna though and apparently, the Blakists invaded in 3068. Does this mean that MWO might be moving into the Jihad era?

The Solaris Riots were pretty much part of the FCCW. And "riots" is perhaps a bit misleading since it included regimental strength Mech combat...

Yeah, good point. We got FCCW-era tech, but PGI is very much unwilling to actually go into the Civil War. The Clan vs IS stuff works best up until the destruction of the Smoke Jaguars (another thing we probably won't see in MWO).

i always thought of this as the first battles of the civil war. i know victor davion didnt come out till later to announce revolt, but fighting had already broken out before he did that.

Probably because it will contain a balance pass that is primarily aimed at reigning in some Clan performance but will lump in the IS just to maintain optics.

-The Wolfhound, Dragon, Commando are all overperforming. Quirks have been adjusted.
-Escort is not being played as often as we think it should be. The odds of it popping up in mode queue has been increased.
-After further analysis, its been determined Medium Lasers are still overperforming. Their cooldowns have been increased by 0.75 seconds across the board.
-Internal metrics have determined that Consumable skills have lesser value than other branches. The Air Strike cooldown timer has been reduced by 33% to improve their utility.

Don't give them any last minute ideas!

Although they SHOULD nerf the PRI-1 (and this is from a user of that mech) Instead they will nerf the MG's so everyone suffers :-)
