I'm not sure if we win or lose more or less than the units mentioned but you can check the leaderboards if you'd like to. What I'm saying is that none of them would talk about how Annihilators are overpowered.

Oh, we have something like a 7.3 win/loss ratio. We win a hell of a lot more than we lose, against organized teams like you say. You're still conveniently ignoring that literally every group that consistently plays FW (Clan or not) agrees that Clan is very overpowered.

I know plenty of Clan units, and none of them have ever said that. Can you be specific as to who is saying this?

If you ask pilots or leaders in KCom I'm sure that they would be inclined to tell you that the Annihilator is useless on everything but siege defense.

And now to chime in on the IS vs Clan argument... @Ghastly You just said your W/L ratio is better than 7 for an IS loyalist... How can you seriously argue that IS is significantly weaker than Clan with that statement?

Because we're very, very organized and are good at pressing the things that IS are very good at.

KCom is merc. They don't count in my book. Just like all mercs, they flip flop between the two factions. The 420 guys have been loving IS, and what 420 says carries more weight with me. And since both are merc, the two opinions cancel each other out. Argument invalidated.

So again, what Clan Loyalist units (to be more specific) have been saying this?

seriously, it cant be that hard to understand that clan is just straight up stronger than IS when most of the big merc companies are playing clan mechs and also dominated the championships since their arrival.

and stop whining for your machine guns. i would gladly trade the few advantages of the IS guns with the ridiculously powerfull weight advantage of the clans.

KCom has been loyalist to viper for well over 100 days, and have 28,185 IS kills and only 314 clan kills.

To say they "flipflop" is a blatant lie.

I don't appreciate you spreading misinformation like this around posts that would attract new pilots.

The same way I don't appreciate you guys trying to have our mechs nerfed into the ground. I've played IS, I've seen what they can do. I've pulled 3k+ FP games easy with the mechs they have. The idea that IS needs more buffs and Clan needs more nerfs is a self serving lie that's being perpetuated, and I hate those who continue to spread it. I hate PGI for buying into it. But I mostly hate the people that spread it.

So... if you want to play the "misinformation" card, consider everything you're arguing for is IS superiority. Not balance. This is not balance. This is intentionally stacking the game in favor of IS. So if you're arguing for the sake of balance, then what you're arguing for is against balance. Therefore it is a lie. Misinformation. Where I come from, rigging a game in favor of a team is distasteful. You want a fair fight? Bring the drop tonnages back down to 250 for IS. That way we don't have to deal with the 2 x Annihilator, 2 x Assassin BS we've been seing lately. 2 x Annihilators, with Commandos after. That's tolerable. Assassins after? **** that.

I was speaking from experience that the KCom I dealt with in the past has been Merc. When I was with 420, they were playing both sides, and we encountered them in IS mechs, a lot. So yeah, if they're loyalist now, that's a new one on me. But they're just one unit. One unit is a small example. Your point is moot.

Saying that the Annihilator is not a good mech doesn't mean that I want imbalance. I would go as far as saying that Faction play is fair right now, with the clan having less tonnage but more firepower and speed.

I should also remind you that damage is a poor way to judge how well you perform in faction, as effective pushing and pinpoint damage trumps volume of damage (with both of those being stats you can not record.)

I hope that you get nothing but good fights when you play, for the sake of the inner sphere.

(In order to "Balance" the game we're going to buff 5 of the top performing IS mechs while Nerfing Clan ER-Large Laser and MG's.

Firstly the difference between the IS and Clan ER-LL is pretty out of whack in favor of IS already. In the proper builds IS ERLL have nearly comparable range and, when added to their cool down, heat gen, difference in ghost heat and duration bonuses, they are more than comparable than their Clan variants.

On top of that the uber-nerfing of the clan machine guns is a VERY thinly veiled prenerfing of the Piranha. Seriously, you're taking a mech that so many of us Clanners have been looking forward to and, in the first patch after the pre-order ends, you trash the mech after taking our monies. This is insulting to your client base and, for those of you who might want a refund, valid grounds that the mech they purchased will no longer be the same one you expected to purchase in terms of viability and performance.

I'm calling this right now, they'll be nerfing Micro lasers within 3 patches. Way to say thanks to the BattleTech community to claim to represent, Russ.)


i agree.. if i didnt buy my piranha pack on a gift card i threw away i would ask for my money back... and when and I.S. pilot says this [/color]

(The latest Nerf or adjustment to the Clan ER laser makes it about unplayable. Already even with a pair of them it is a constant battle with heat overload and this will go over the top. This is not a balance. Even in lore the clan ER laser was better by range, but you still have to focus on your target for good damage. This does not often happen at long range against moving targets. The IS large laser was working a better, but the new adjustment is not only unwanted, but it is overkill. There are other ways to balance FW, try making Mechs better---not worse!)

That being said, I feel like Faction Warfare should be restricted to Units Only. It is a more team oriented game mode, after all. You always have the solo pug droppers going in and screwing things up for the units that fight hard. Do that, and you get rid of the need for a 240 vs. 300 ton Clan/IS matchup. And all the units dedicated to FP don't have all their hard work spoiled by the amateurs and people that refuse to learn how this mode is played.


Without pugs FP would be a ghost town. There would be more ghost drops or people will be dropping into Group, Scouting or Solo queue. There are other discussions on how to deal with pugs in general, between new pugs and vet pugs, etc but those discussions are in other threads.
