Okay, my tipping point for being forced to Rate an Event has been reached. I wanted to go silent this time, but I've been pushed to having no choice left.
Holiday Epic Bonus Event -- As previously noted in the other thread for this item...
25.0/10 ... kind of hard to beat giving that much for just one weak match, given that all you had to do was really give a try.
24-Day Advent Mini-Events -- Somebody thought it was funny to use 'Solo Kill' Requirements, instead of throwing in 'Savior Kills' as a metric. I got a headache from the first, but tried to think hopeful on the 12 days that had not been posted prior to the Monthly Patch. Unfortunately, I was severely let down on my hopes of PGI, as they did two more 'Solo Kill' Daily Challenges, and made my headache far worse. It also got to the point where I almost missed one of them, and I'm rather lucky that I happened to come upon a Disconnected Assault Mech... Rating?
5.5/10 ... and leaving this with a recommendation to avoid 'Solo Kill' as a metric in the future. Use 'Savior Kill', because that needs TeamWork in order to be achieved.
2017-2018 Stocking Stuffer III Loot Bag Event -- Well, this unfortunately is going to get my worst rating by far. Anything dealing with Faction Warfare has been turned into a 'Trudge of Self-Punishment' of the absolute worst kind. I don't mind a challenge, but this has gone beyond that by too far. New players are the ones needing Mechs, but the way this Event has been set up more than cuts them off. It also blocks them from a severe number of Loot Bags that they really needed to get into the game. On top of this, if PGI wants the Community to grow, they are doing an excellent job of driving people away instead. As it stands for me, I've tried too many times (
beyond more than I can count, likely upwards of 45 games) in both Invasion and Scouting now, and I've only got 18% (
9 Games / 18 Bags) of the Faction stuff. This will mark my third failed "Stocking Stuffer", and the worst outcome of all three that I've tried. Setting a 250 Match Score Requirement for earning, when the Formula in the System is set up to dock for every single Mech lost, is an awful and sadistic idea. I've personally reached the point of thoughts of IRL Suicide crossing my mind, and I can only imagine a lot of other people have felt the same way, or at least have a lot of anger towards PGI right now... ...from me, with a severe and scathing recommendation to lower the Match Score requirement for Faction stuff to somewhere from 150 to 200... Most people do not have the time to waste on having their heads smashed to hell repeatedly! And yet somebody thought it funny to force people to 'No-Life' in order to have any damned chance at all! That doesn't even speak of trouble with Quick Play, where it should NOT have been higher than 125 to Qualify for earning. Like, geez....... THIS IS THE HOLIDAYS!!! WHERE ARE YOUR BRAINS AT, PGI?!?!? YOU DON'T PULL OUT THE MOST PUNISHING SETUPS DURING THE END-OF-YEAR HOLIDAYS!!! THIS IS NOT A TIME OF YEAR TO BE MEAN TO PEOPLE!!!
