I thought it might be fun to have a Solaris Parts suggestion thread.
Please post your Solaris Parts suggestions below.
(please keep them Relevant to Lore and Solaris)

from the Solaris Preview we know Players will be able to Equip 5 items,
(this above may change but as of the Preview this is what was displayed)

and parts for your mech include,
Masks,
Right Shoulder, Left Shoulder,
Right Hand, Left Hand,
Back

more locations may exist, but this is what we know at this point,
(i will add new info on Solaris as it comes out)

so post a picture of a item you would like to see added,
as well as the location where it would attach,

Bolt-on geometry should not give combat advantages, no matter how small. It should be purely about looking cool.

I'd honestly be more interested in small subtle things like banners, flags and satellite dishes rather than all this large and bulky or obnoxious silly stuff.
Most of all however, even though I know it's not gonna happen, I would have liked to see actual geometry like alternate weapons, cockpits/heads and limbs.

Another thing I would love to see are external weapons that your mech would hold rather than be embedded.

See above for some examples but for mechs that have a weapon in the arm and a hand actuator I would like there to be the option of "mounting" it externally.

Rails or racks you can attach to the outside.

Flags.

Spotlights.

Holographic image projectors.

"Spine" armor.

Duffel bags or other assorted human sized storage containers lashed to the exterior.

All the PNT needs to be amazing is a tattered red cape...

Label it OP AF and be done.

So my vote would be sweet tattered and torn capes and shoulder pauldrons!

I like a lot of these but as stated before, no gameplay bonus for parts, only cosmetic.

False weapons ports and/or disguised weapons ports (Similar to the spikes which conceal SRM6es in the Crusading Crael version of the Crusader from the Royalty and Rogues RPG module).

Components that can only be earned through playing the game. For example, Chromatic paint for mechs.
Other components that don't work well to obscure the mech but are very flashy, like lighting or Solaris-specific decals, should impart bonuses on C-bill earnings from each match.

All honesty, all PGI really needs to do to get tons of great ideas for some Solaris 7 gear is to open the booklet that comes with the Solaris 7 Boxed set, the Solaris 7 Mapsheets for Battletech, or the Mechwarrior 3rd edition Solaris 7 book to get more than ample amounts of ideas for what they need to add to the game.

There are about a dozen canon Solaris 7 arenas, and countless other small-time arenas for the low-rung fighters. I'd love to play in the real Steiner Coliseum with the rising and falling walls and pillars, or try the caves of Ishiyama, but you know how it is around here... "Corerule ignore".

Cosmetic bags/pouches, not unlike those duffel bags on the back of tanks in Battlefield 4.

Patches of grass/leaves for camouflage.

Extended bars like those on the Phoenix Locust.

Basically, more 'realistic' stuff that doesn't just look like spikes, maces, jester hats, etc.

How about various debris attached to the legs?

Trailing barbed wire fences wrapped around the shins, maybe a civillian car lodged between a mech's toes, some large birds splatted against the cockpit window?

Nails for the Centurion. Seriously, this is so stupidly obvious. Come on, PGI.

The car and birds no, but I like the barbed wire wrapped on the mech's legs. Always loved the war-torn, 'worn out' look.

Hahah, okay no birds.

All joking aside I wholeheartedly agree about the war-torn look. Forget big silly axes, I want it to look like my mech earned its place, and not that it came off the showroom floor right before the battle. I'm in favor of options like big, ugly panels bolted over weapon damage, perhaps some arcing wires, etc.

Less pretty; more gritty.
