Why are they showing this?
I know the game has potential and all that, but these kinds of videos need to be used to get people interested.
A whole lot of people just aren't impressed with the early state of this game or the potato pilot. I think less is more right now.

I think it looks more polished than Star Citizen.

It's the IGN reviewer where the videos are from.

I'm really interested to see if PGI really does release this in December of 2018. If it's not done I really, really hope they don't release it until it is done. As far as complaints about the game in its current state, remember that this is no where near complete.

I like the JJ mechanics because this is what I think how JJ should behave, i.e. you initiate the JJs and it (they) should launch you forcefully into the air, maybe also remove the ability to feather but this makes JJs less useful for softening a landing/fall.

very Good Scaling of the Trees ..the tanks very little and fast destroyed ...the Vegatation overlay very good the less of Groundtextures ...many random Cannonfooder and every every the same Square Random base with Cannonfodder AI Units... no scripted units like MW4 nor really Missions ..(Looks ok and fine ) gameplay lightyears away from MW4...not interesting in this Stat ...only for free not for Money..let me seeing first missions ...not generic Missions against Generic Units and Bases like Doom oder Duke Nukem

Just finished watching the videos, and wanted to put in my 2 cents.

1) Dear god, the more I watch this player for IGN, the more I want to smack him upside the head... did they give him a steeringwheel to pilot by?

2)Scale feels, right, I mean, really right. It's how I expect mechs to look vs their environment. Trees and buildings , the way things crumble under fire and impact feels good.

3)Laser fire animation feels, weak... sounds are spot on but the animation needs a bit of work, I like the kinda spotty look to them, but I feel like it should look a little bit more substantial, it just looks too weak right now.

4) I'm torn about missiles, I both like, and hate the stream... I dunno, maybe I've gotten used to MWO IS missiles or something...

5) bases need some diversity.

Over all, I think this will be a solid title, the fact it's going to have 4 player co-op makes it a practical, must buy at this rate.

All I can hope, is they iron out some of the smaller issues, and make sure joystick support is solid, and this will be easily an 8/10 title next year.

the generic maps looks better as the last Arenamap from MWO..the Rubelite Doom Megapixel Map with 64 Colors in red Brown and 800x600 Low Definition Texturing

To be fair, Star Citizen is attempting to do much, much more than MW5 is. More than any other game I've ever seen. Probably too much, actually.

That punch animation bothers me.

a. The Atlas isn't using any sort of fighting stance
b. It replants both it's front and rear foot amidst windup and delivery????
c. It's swinging arm shoulder crosses the centerline pushing it's balance and center of gravity towards the opponent

All very, very bad practices in martial arts that will get someone hurt.

Yeah, I'm being a stickler, but after years of training I notice things like this.

If PGI is trying to sell its game via these videos its not doing itself any favours, imho its doing exactly the opposite.
The 15 min video especially, the map, colours, textures are just bad, even in the year 2000 they would of been considered bad.
The game play, ohh my, a mech walks thru a heavily defended base and shoots stuff at will? aircraft that sit there to be taken out in one shot every time? turrets that blow up with minimal effort and a shot or 2? AI mechs that are just stupid?.
Really you trying to sell MW5 thru these videos? ohhh my.

Atlas pilot doesn't maintain locks, LRMs are not the canon fire-and forget type.

Mouse and Keyboard piloting on Atlas. It's singleplayer so must have option of Joystick support at release and no reason not too. I am using a joystick in MWO and about to hit Tier 2 with mostly PUGs. MWO did not have Joysticks working until well after release and you have to wonder what negative effects this had on player retention.

It´s a PGI Product.
Do u guys really believe this will be:

1: Done in Time for Decembre 2018
2: Actually be at least a good Game?
3: all the Promises made, will actually be kept?

Last Year i had Experiences with 2 Indie Studios whose Products i backed.
That were Larian Studios Divinity Original Sin 2 and Harebrained Schemes Battletech.

Man, those 2 compared to my originale backing ob MW:O were Lightyears better.
In Communication alone.

Looks good. Sound effects are nice and realistic sounding. It feel so much different than MWO.

The one thing I think should change is Betty's voice. Reminds me of MWO too much. I would like Betty to have a proper British accent or an option to change Betty's accent. An option to have a female or male voice would be nice too.

A Betty for each of the major houses would be AWESOME. Posted Image

Melee has NEVER been in Mechwarrior, so as much as I would love to see it, don't expect it to be. You'll only be setting yourself up for disappointment.

I think the game looks like it has a lot of promise. Even if it is not the most graphically amazing game as long as the gameplay is good I couldn't care less. I think my main concern from what I've seen so far is that mechs seem to only be threatened by other mechs. Which is understandable somewhat because of the lore of a mech being worth more than its weight in tanks and choppers but I still think that a group of choppers and tanks grouping up should be at least a moderate threat to a smaller mech.

I also hope that since the game is singleplayer they won't bother with balancing the mechs to much and keep them more as their lore forms. Also would like to see some small foot soldiers so we can step on them because that is always fun.
