Y'all were warned that the Urbpocalypse was coming... but nobody listened. Oh no. They laughed. "It's a joke!" they said. "It'll never be meta!" they said.

Only the Cans are laughing now.

In most cases it's not "static" hitboxes, that are broken - it's broken run animation. Like Frirestarters, that become inclined, when they move, but it isn't how server sees it.

The funniest part of this thread is that I generally considered Assassins easy kills in FW scouting. It was Bushwackers that were the problem...

And now, I cringe when I see I'm dropping with an Assassin instead of a Bushie, HB, or Kintaro. You're just giving up so much firepower to be a lil' bit smaller and harder to hit except every team in scouting has at least one streak boat (or quickly wishes they did)

Assassin is way harder to hit than KTO or Bushie--those two are ginormous. Assassin is also used for the mega cheese 2xCyclops + 2xAssassin FP deck.

I dont even really use the mech or even have much of a major issue fighting them, sure they are squirrly little things and they can be a bit of a pain to hit but they are not as broken as some people would lead us to believe in my opinion.

Reduce the mobility on a mech designed specifically to be mobile (and you know, being 40 tons and all...). Sounds likely.

Well, if they can turn the Timber Wolf into a slug, then they can do it to anything else. <shrugs>

Being bad or mediocre or what have you at this game is no excuse for what has gone on over the last year.

Quirks removed!
But not quite.

The goals of the skills tree were:
1) Increased player choice
2) Increased mech and build diversity
3) To transition existing players to the 1 mech economy,
4) Dramatically decrease overall quirks
All but one (3) being total failures.

A “Major” balance pass to be done in September after a “thorough” review of in game data.
Only to have even more “major” balance passes done every month for the last 6 months (except for November). While at the same time they asserted balance both across techs and across chassis is “as close as it has ever been” (if that’s true, why all the god damn balance passes?).
And those balance passes hitting underperformers and perhaps even legitimate over performers because our balance overlords do not understand that broad brush changes hurt far more than just that which they hope or intend them to affect.

This year and its horror of watching PGI trash their own game for some unknown purpose -while at the same time mind you, telling us how their understanding of MWO is what is guiding their vision of “giving the fans what they want” for MW5- may or may not be related to their crappiness at playing their own game, but it sure as hell has something to do with their inability to understand their own data, to focus on actual problems and to understand that their stated goals are in direct contrast to their proposed solutions.

I don’t think that incompetence is indicative of a lack of skill at playing the game but rather a lack of a basic understanding of their own game mechanics and perhaps even math itself.

Its gonna get real quite around here in 2018 if this shi7 keeps up.

Good riddance.

It'll just be replaced with another medium-light that hoses you the same way.

Seriously, the issue is universal- a jumping, smallish medium with narrow hitboxes will spread damage like a champ, and it takes a LOT of damage to it's arms first, second, and even after they're destroyed, meaning damage reduction.

I've one-shotted them, but it's generally because I got an ATM alpha straight to the face or back. Side shots waste a lot of damage on those shielding arms.

The problem with scouting in particular is clan SRM spread.
When you shoot bushwacker from say 200 meters most missles land at least somewhere on target. And when you shoot assassin half the missiles just fly past because how narrow he is.

It is performing above the cut. But what about the fact that most of the drop compositions were Clan? Where are the adjustments to compensate for that? Getting real tired of the radio silence on that.

The ASN has these giant legs thats impossible not to hit. Very easy to disable. The upper body hitbox is broken? Why even shoot the torso :/
