That one probably needs adjustment. When someone can take multiple C-SRM6 (No Artemis) and one-shot a fresh Locust in the back at more than 200-250 (likely more) meters, something's not right.

Maybe we can have an ATM/MRM challenge?

Sounds to me like somebody hacked in order to kill you. I hope you reported them. Had the same kind of problem recently to my tiny Locust, more hitting than should have been able to.

And you won't, because you're capable of nothing more than backseat authority.
Simple... You have put an arbitrary limit, self imposed, upon your play. You are now complaining that your self imposed limit that has nothing to do with the game itself should not be a limitation. Many tears are shed for your self imposed limit limiting your experience.
PGI doesn't have to give you free stuff because you decided you were going to never play a certain type of mech. Too bad, your choice, move on. You EXCLUDED YOURSELF.

If you are not going to play anymore, can I have your stuff? Or at least gift me a battlemech.

The introduction of a MG boating mech that pretty much doubles what any other mech is capable of needs a bigger data set.
It's a clam mech, so if they make any changes to the clam mg's they need a corresponding data set for IS mech to prevent power creep/nerfing occuring to one side only.
I see there is also a SRM dual side event scheduled, so I think they want to review those as well.

No, that's not how this works. That's not called logic; that's called conjecture.
I do appreciate the attempt to justify this event in concrete, utilitarian terms, but unless PGI corroborates your claim, it's just hearsay.

And if that's their stance, they are more than welcome to make that clear to everyone here. You are not their mouthpiece. This is the backseat authority I was referring to earlier.

This game has somewhere between three and four thousand dollars' worth of goods for sale. Sticking to just one of the two factions, and buying everything that faction has to offer, would push your expenditures significantly above the money-spending population's average. Your argument lacks merit because it relies on people who buy everything as its baseline parameter. That's ridiculous and you know it.
Also, dual accounts.

Once again, you aren't providing a reason for why the event should be this way; all you're doing is describing a cause-effect relationship.
Instead of telling me "you made the decision to play only one faction, therefore you shouldn't be able to complete this event because ________," you are telling me "you made the decision to play only one faction, therefore you aren't able to complete the event."
Do you understand the difference there? The difference between "is" and "should be"? I don't know how to describe it in terms any simpler than that.

To be honest, hit registration is at an all-time low at the moment.
SRMs not registering at all, PPCs travelling right through mechs without causing any damage whatsoever, ATMs not registering at 130-140m and the most broken part of equipment right now is the heavy gauss. I cored a Hellbringer while firing at me from the back leaving him with a cherry red ct with pristine front armor - had the same thing happen to me - lost my left torso while the right torso was the one facing the enemy...

Please stop projecting that I'm trying to be some "mouthpiece". That would be like me asserting you are some kind of Ombudsman or "voice of reason". There is nothing in my comments that indicate that I have any misbegotten notions of my role in this. If you've decided that you are going to buy nothing but chicken nuggets for the rest of your life and McDonalds suddenly has a flash sale where you get a free shake with the purchase of a burger... Did they target you for exclusion? Is that some sort of bias?
Finally, did you submit a formal complaint to PGI to protest this challenge or have you just come to whine on the forums? Becasue, if you really cared, you would do the more effective thing... Sure sometimes forum posts gain traction, and PGI changes things, but you'll notice that you're in the minority on this one. So have you emailed them and threatened to cancel orders? That would be your best best.
You are not obligated to explain why you excluded yourself from a *fraction* of their challenges, they are not obligated to explain why they excluded you (unconsciously). You can certainly bring it to their attention as maybe they could acknowledge their corrective measure.

No, that's reductio ad absurdum and you know it. You blindly won't even consider purchasing anything from half of the things they offer, no matter what it is. It could be the perfect mech for you but because it's on the wrong 'side' you won't open your wallet. You don't have to purchase everything on a side for your artificial limit to harm PGI's bottom line. You're making a fungibility argument in an artificial scarcity environment.
They put in the work to provide two tech bases from which to choose to purchase. You're telling them to f-off with all the work they put into Clan mechs without even looking at them because you have a misplaced RPing stick up your backside regarding QP, a portion of the game which has no RPing. They owe you and people like you nothing in regard to configuring events.
We aren't mouthpieces or white knights...we're just people who see a lot of whining about self-imposed nonsense and became tired of it.
