I just used HMGs for 3 different matches on 3 different mechs, and it didn't count. It must be standard only.

Yep. I'm not going to buy a Clan mech, just to complete this challenge. So I suppose this is another one that I'm going to have to sit out. Not much point in only doing the IS part of it. Sad Panda

This is a poorly conceived event. I just spent MC for 30-days of Premium Time to skill the mechs I bought that were so kindly offered on sale during the holidays, and to earn C-Bills to purchase a MCII later this month.

Instead, we get events like this ruin that experience in just about every way possible. I run into endless trolls running around with machine guns like they never won a minor MC gift before.

After tonight's experience, I will from now on check the events and if I see MG-related event goals or other similar poorly-contrived events that I know will have a detrimental impact on my gaming experience, I will simply not play again until they expire.

To each their own of course, if you love MG's go nuts and have a blast. For me, it would have been nice to at least get my daily 1st match win XP bonus per mech to help skill them quicker during the Premium Time I purchased, though enduring this MG-idiocy annoyance is not worth even that amount of match time.

You need to shoot both IS and Clan MGs for the single reward?
I think it would be donne better in two separate challenges with halved reward.. Some people play only one side, and 1 of 2 is better than 0.

Briefly considered modifying my stock SMN-D to fit more MGs and do the challenge. But dropping millions of CB just to get that part of the challenge done, al the time enduring the clan voices ... no, thanks.

It is fitting the Piranha theme, I do get that, but for the clan side, you either go Arctic Cheetah/Mist Lynx or are in for a really long run. And for IS you get to thank PGI for not giving us something comparable (no, The Arrow is too slow with its max engine rating). So another long run on that side, too.

It does favour certain mechs...blackjack arrow, lynx-g, bushwacker x1, spider-k, its the silly ones I'm worried about... 6 MG king crabs and maulers... if you're gonna chase 50MC and a useless hanging item, don't handicap the team using a troll assault build.

Seems just a teensy bit lacking in thinking the conditions through properly. Both factions have three classes of MGs, so it seems important to me to clearly state which weapons qualify.

Apart from the somewhat random Tuesday start of an event.

I like events in general and daily challenges i don't mind either, but make sure they're very clear and well announced.

This event has shown me just how evil a JM6-DD can really be with 2xLPL, 6MG's and a MK. VIII targeting comp can be >.>

I like these events and I hate these events.
I like it because they completely change the feel of the match.
I hate these events because everyone forgets how to play and is just running around shooting machine guns ... especially me.

The computer for the zoom window or the range boost of the LPL ?

Not every event should be instantly achievable by every player.
