I threw 3 HSLs on my PIR-1.. not sure if that's worth it or to just go all MGs and ammo, but man it tore up the Centurion before the HSLs could fire again lol. And that's with LMGs.


66 seconds of firing with 800 rounds, IIRC

But that's 66 seconds for, counting on Crits, over 1000 damage....that ain't bad.

I did the math and mgs average out at 1.92 damage to structure

no crit = 48% = 0 bonus damage
x1 crit = 31% * 0.8 * .15 = .0372 bonus damage
x2 crit = 17% * 1.6 * .15 = .0408 bonus damage
x3 crit = 4% * 2.4 * .15 = .0144 bonus damage

total bonus damage = 0.924 or 1.924 damage to structure on average

its slightly under x2 damage and certainly not over x2 damage to structure like some people are claiming

but thats also not factoring in reinforced casing which a lot of people take. reinforced casing reduces the chance of getting critted so it makes machine guns less effective against structure.

I am back with more data derived from the academy grounds. The target was an Execution-D left arm. Keep in mind this was only three trials, but the small bonus damage can be inferred from the shots per kill damage. Most of the damage is from the machine guns itself not crit back transfer.

Left Arm with UAA + LAA+Hand = 2000-1846 = 154
Left Arm with UAA + LAA = 2000-1850 = 150
Left Arm with UAA = 2000-1854 = 146

Strange that damage required to destroy the limb decreases as the number of critical objects falls. Repeat testing should be done to confirm this.

Your numbers are wrong
1 DPS per MG, not 0.8
That's closer to LMGs (which is 0.7)

Its also a 9x CritDamMult, not 8x

It's not like I've posted the correct numbers multiple times over the past day

I didnt use dps, i used damage per bullet

a machine gun bullet does .1 damage, it fires 10 times a second to give you 1 dps

0.1 damage x8 crit multiplier = 0.8

nope they nerfed it to x8

remember the clan mg nerf they snuck in one or two patches ago before this last patch?

should have nothing to do with it

the bonus structure damage from critting occurs regardless of whether a component takes damage or not.

The experiment was designed to test actuator immortality. In that regards the total hp of the items would matter for back transfer. That is why I find it of interest.

an item doesnt have to be damaged for back transfer to occur

bonus structure damage happens independently of whether crit damage is done to an item or not.

for example, if an AC20 gets a x1 crit and does 20 crit damage, the bonus damage to structure is always 3, regardless of whether the crit damage destroys an item with 10 health, destroys an item with 20 health, or doesnt destroy an item at all.
